I think that other sports such as wrestling and swimming require more explosiveness rather than grinding for hours/miles and they require the use/torture of more muscle groups. So, yes, conditioned is up for interpretation.

Agree with Mili but peoples' definition of "conditioned" makes this interesting.

My idea of "conditioned" is whoever can exert the most amount of watts for the longest period of time. I also believe water polo is up there as well.

Cannot believe I left out wrestlers.

I do know that cyclists traditionally have some of the lowest resting heart rates. Lance was known for having a resting heart rate around 30 during his "peak."
