Have you competed since becoming a Scandinavian citizen?

Nope. I haven't competed in any biathlons in years...and even back in the day I competed in far more summer biathlons (running instead of skiing) due to being in warmer climates.

I was on my high school ski team and was one of the Cross Country guys and competed at the state level. When I was competing, my cardio was ridiculous. The only workout that I have felt to be tougher has been Ju-Jitsu/MMA. I think the biggest factor there is the anaerobic exercise and the resistance of your competition prohibits you from being able to really pace yourself the way you want to.

For those who voted swimming, have you ever considered the whale?

I played football, basketball, I swam and ran track.

Out of all of those sports, swimming by far was the one I had to be most conditioned to participate, especially in the long sprint events. I would practice twice a day (5-7AM swim and lift, 5-7PM team practice), have one or two head to head meets during the week, plus the weekend relay and invitational meets.

I would say that any sport where you have to keep a high level of endurance for an extended period of time (as others have said) would qualify.
