Your question, as posed, is a conundrum. I can't pick between those two things.

But how about this: would I trade beating Florida on Monday for losing to Michigan in Ann Arbor NEXT YEAR? Yes.

Of course, if we get to Nov. 17th next year and we are undefeated and ranked #1 I would shoot myself! I want the NC so bad, and if next year we have to lose to scUM, well I could live with that for one year.

Maybe

I'm actually pretty surprised at how this poll stands. Granted, beating Florida and winning the National Championship is what we've been shooting for all season, but c'mon, we're talking about Ohio State/Michigan.

"The Game" is what every player who plays here should be about. We've obviously gotten spoiled over the past 6 years (I guess that comes with having the greatest Coach in CFB who loves and is loyal to his University and players and has us in the NC running every year), but beating Michigan is still and should always be the main focus of the season. We all know its tuff as hell to win a NC, everything has to go your way, and so far this season it has for us. But, to me I think the greater accomplishment is for one of these two teams to win "The Game" 5 out of 6 years WITHOUT a guy named Cooper standing on the sidelines.

I guess the question is for this year only. we couldn't be here without beating michigan. Now that we are playing in the NC, and as coach JT would say, it becomes even more important to beat Florida.

So I would chose florida.

The Michigan game matters, but it matters in-conference. The Florida game matters because it's for the whole enchilada. It's tough to compare when really there's two distinct contexts, but I gotta go with Florida mattering most. We play Michigan year in and year out. We do not play for the NC every year, and when we do, it means everything.

As an aside, in reflecting on this question, I can see the beauty of playing Michigan 2x. It would have been an absolutely historic, never-to-be-repeated match-up for the NC that could only speaks volumes of the Big 10. In that light, I could be tempted to change my mind, albeit belatedly, and support a second chance for Michigan.
