More Discussion on Marijuana (Merged with Skeete thread discussion)

BTW, if anyone wants to argue the federal government's complicity in the importation and distribution of illegal drugs into the country, you REALLY need to look up "The Mena Coverup," in which many top flight politicians, including Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush, regularly imported cocaine into the country through the Mena airstip in Arkansas.

Ahhh there we go. Now the presidents are not only keeping MJ illeagle now they are actually helping to run drugs themselves.

Really it's been awhile since you had one of your crazy, the government is out to get us all rants.

Well done.

We can agree to disagree...I feel they at least understand the mind a little better.

I agree that it should be a diagnosis only valid when coming from psychiatrists, but not psychologists. Even if a pychologist diagnosed a patient with ADD, they could not prescribe anything for it, and at this point, that seems to be the only treatment for it.

Considering most psychiatrists are people who couldn't get into med school and a psychologist doesn't even need a PhD, I would disagree.

A psychiatrist is an MD, so they make the diagnosis in most cases. But ADD is over-diagnosed because most diagnoses are given as the result of a question-and-answer checklist. For instance: do you like watching TV? Are you intrigued by fire and explosions? What teenage boy doesn't have ADD according to their bureaucratic determination? Just look at the list of stimulants used to treat this "disorder" and it's clear the ADD movement has been propelled by the (legal) drug industry.

just out of curiosity, do any of you have the diagnosis or ADD? or have you been through the testing to rule out ADD?

Well, I know there are a few lists that describe certain tendancies a person with ADD has. There are also different types of ADD inherently. If you meet a certain number of criteria in a given list, you might have ADD and should go see a professional.

I was just curious.. I have been through all the testing, medical doctors, psych's, shrinks, IQ, all of it and was diagnosed when I was 14.. so I guess lets see, been living with ADD for 21 years now... I find it interesting to see what people have to say about it

wow, ohios laws are ridic... you can up to 100g before you get into any real trouble. Theres roughly 25 grams in an oz, so you can carry up to 4 ounces on you in ohio and get a misdemeanor.. selling and cultivating are where you can get slammed.. but if you had 4 ounces, or a quarter pound, you could probably get caught with intent to distrbute, i guess if you didnt have it broken up or a scale they couldnt do anything besides a 100 dollar fine if you had a bookbag full of mary jane..
