meh, prob wont get it, looks exactly like MW1 and MW2, doesn't look like any improvement were made

It'll still be better than Black Ops was. Which is an improvement in my books. Hopefully they bring 3rd person back with more game modes. Maybe 3rd person Team Deathmatch, and Domination. 3rd Person Team Tactical was the best part about MW2 and really the only "improvement" I enjoyed.

i hated black ops, but just looking at the modern warfare trilogy it looks exactly the same, and i have no doubt it will play exactly the same as the other 2

I think some of the gameplay will be slightly different with the two developers in this installment. Infinity Ward was the only developer on the last title. So minor tweaks just to get Sledgehammer's name out there.

Battlefield 3 will be far ahead? I've never played it.

Modern Warfare 3 is the exact same game engine that's been used on Mw2, Cod4, Black ops etc. Aside from slight graphical tweaks and obviously different maps/perks it's going to be the same game.

Bad Company 2 imo already had a better engine then the COD series, (Destructible environments, more realistic physics, BC2 makes Black Ops and Mw2 feel like arcade shooters when you try to go back to them after playing it) Battlefield 3 is actually a new and improved engine over what BC2 was. Their technology and realism is FAR ahead of what COD has to offer

To be fair, I think COD is going for an arcade-type feel more than realism. It's too fast and insane to be anything else. Don't tell the majority of COD fanboys this, but I'm sure the developers would agree.

The appeal of COD (or lack there of in my case) is the run and gun twitch style gaming. Which limits what they can actually do to change the game without ruining that dynamic.

I prefer Battlefield since there is a lot more strategy to the game. With vehicles, jets/choppers, destructible environments, and stationary weapons it adds a bunch of different styles to the game. For me, that is a more suitable style of gameplay. I would rather out think someone than out shoot them (plus I am not the gamer I used to be).

I understand the COD appeal. Pick it up, enter a game, start shooting away. Yet it's just not for me (although I did enjoy COD4). Of course part of that is I pretty much suck at twitch gameplay. Those days are in my past.

See I like more strategy than run and gun. COD was fun for a while, but the damn care packages got old after a while. I may have to look into this new battlefield...when is it coming out?

I mostly enjoy the COD games for LAN parties with friends. Get a party going, have some (ok, a lot of) drinks, start blowing shit up.

Both my younger brothers play it, so whenever they swing by on the weekends we get some excellent frag-fests going.

However, for playing by myself, Battlefield takes it by a mile.
