MLB (2015 regular season)

Didn't think it was worth starting a new thread for, so figured I'd ask here.

There's very little info on the MiLB website about Rookie League teams, so does anyone know if they're treated like a lot of HS/minor college sports where it's just walk up and watch? Seems like one of the Braves' Rookie League teams plays at Wide World of Sports, which is the closest MiLB action without driving an hour.

They are for profit organizations.

You will have to buy tickets, no idea of prices.

The pace of the game needs to improve. I'm not sure if the one foot in the box rule will make much difference when the umpires refuse to enforce a rule that has been in the books for years. When the bases are unoccupied the pitcher has 12 SECONDS to throw a pitch. Does that EVER happen? Enforcing that rule would shave several minutes off the average game.
@Jake sort of like the pace in college basketball:lol: I will admit though speeding it up would certainly help interest imo

Indeed. Wille Stargell didn't need to step out of the box after every pitch to adjust his batting gloves - he didn't even wear them. Big Papi spends most days sitting on his ass waiting to bat 4 times. He can get his butt in the box and get on with it. That goes for the pitcher who feels the need to step off and rub up the ball every other pitch, too.
Get off my lawn! :argh:

Fan struck by broken bat at Fenway suffers life threatening injuries.

The woman was hit in the second inning by a bat that broke after a swing by Brett Lawrie of the Oakland A’s, who were at Fenway to play the Red Sox. The game was halted to attend to the woman and boy.

A number of fans witnessed the accident, including Alex Merlas of Brookline.

“Brett Lawrie hit the ball and the bat snapped in half near the end of the bat,” Merlas said. “It hit on the forehead to the top of the head ... it was a blunt trauma and it was a lot of blood. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that much blood.”

Arvald Karp of Boston said, “She seemed in shock, she was not aware of what was going on, pushing help away. She was pushing the towel away, and she was out of it.”

Red Sox suspend Sandoval for one game for breaking their social media policy during games......

Spin:
Sandoval owned up to using his phone to like photos of women on Instagram while using the bathroom during Wednesday's game, and he'll take a seat on the bench Thursday for violating team rules. Travis Shaw, who was called up from Triple-A on Thursday afternoon, will get the start at third base.
