Ultimately, this is the fighting of the future

Walking into U.S. Bank Arena for the Ultimate Fighting Championship event Saturday night in Cincinnati, I didn't know what to expect ? from the fans, the fighters, any of it.
But if this is the wave of the fighting future, I soon began to understand why.


There were lulls in the action and the sellout crowd voiced its displeasure at times by booing, but the matches generally were action-packed, right up until Anderson "The Spider" Silva caught Rich "Ace" Franklin with the knee that broke his nose, ending the main event.

He is training under Bas Rutten who says he is a specially talented individual who is learning fast. Ill take Bas' word for it as he has as much experience with MMA as anyone.



Tim Silvia should be fighting Rodrigo Nogueira for the HW belt and Matt Hughes is challenging Matt Serra for the WW belt. Anyone care to make predictions? I like Nogueira and Hughes myself.

It looks like those holes are under his arm pit, and then right above his kidney if I am looking at it right. Good Lord.

Mixed martial arts KO's America

It is mixed martial arts, it is a cul tural and social horror and there's not a whole lot we can do about it. For we have made our beds, ladies and gentle men, and these days we're so soiled in societal malaise, we'd be happy to find just a horse's head at our feet.
Mixed martial arts - better known as MMA - is one part kickboxing, one part wrestling and two parts primeval savagery.
Should it be allowed? Yes.
