That dude who interrupted the interview is a meat head. I hope they drop him so he can go to the WWE where he belongs.

Strikeforce in general is a joke.. It's the happy medium between WWE and UFC. They have a couple of fighters that they hype up, give them title shots, and their never challenged again. Problem is it seems there's only 6 fighters in each division. Also they are dodging a Heavyweight title fight between Fedor and Alistair, IMO just so they can get a potential rematch between Strikeforce's golden boy Brett Rodgers and Fedor Emilianenko for the title.

Rodgers and Overeem fight for the title sometime in May.

Urijah Faber drops to bantamweight for WEC 50 meeting with Takeya Mizugaki - UFC - Yahoo! Sports
Urijah Faber drops to bantamweight for WEC 50 meeting with Takeya Mizugaki

As expected former World Extreme Cagefighting 145-pound champion Urijah Faber (23-4 MMA, 8-3 WEC) is dropping to 135 pounds and now meets fellow bantamweight Takeya Mizugaki (13-4-2 MMA, 2-2 WEC) in August at WEC 50.

MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) has confirmed the fight with a source close to one competitor who said bout agreements could be signed as early as this week.

The fight, first reported by MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday, takes place Aug. 18 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

Faber vs. Mizugaki is slated for the night's Versus-televised main card, which also includes a likely headliner between WEC bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz and Joseph Benavidez.

Keith Jardine officially cut from the UFC

SPN.co.uk can confirm that Keith Jardine has been cut from the UFC following his defeat to Matt Hamill.

Jardine went out in style despite suffering defeat to Hamill at the TUF 11 Finale, picking up the Fight of the Night bonus after an ugly three-round war. "The Dean of Mean" was never frightened to shed blood for the cause throughout his five-year UFC career, and his final fight was no different as Hamill clubbed his way to a split decision victory.

Defeat was Jardine's fourth on the bounce, making it difficult for the UFC to justify his position in a packed light-heavyweight division.

Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez headlines UFC 121 in California - UFC - Yahoo! Sports
Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez headlines UFC 121 in California

Sorry, Indianapolis. You missed it by that much.

UFC president Dana White got his wish, and heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar (5-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) will return to action sooner rather than later to take on top contender Cain Velasquez (8-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC).

But while UFC 119 was the original target date, Lesnar and Velasquez will instead meet in the main event of UFC 121.

As MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) first reported, UFC 121 will take place Oct. 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

Shields signs; UFC debut against Kampmann - UFC - Yahoo! Sports
Shields signs; UFC debut against Kampmann

There were some false starts last week, but it’s now official that Jake Shields has signed his new deal to become a UFC fighter. He will debut later this year in the welterweight division. Shields confirmed the signing exclusively with MMAWeekly.com on Monday.

The deal to get Shields into the UFC has been expected for some time now, but it was just a matter of getting the right deal done, and it has now been signed, sealed and delivered.

Shields left his Strikeforce middleweight championship behind, riding a 14-fight winning streak into the Octagon.

Shields also confirmed previous reports that he will indeed drop back down to the welterweight division, after spending the last three fights at 185 pounds while in Strikeforce.

His first fight will be at UFC 121 in Anaheim, Calif., against Top 10 welterweight Martin Kampmann, who last fought in June, winning a unanimous decision over Paulo Thiago.

Shields vs. Kampmann could end up being a top contender’s fight with the winner getting a shot against the winner of the fight between UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and Josh Koscheck.
