Ryan Braun is completely full of shit, regurgitating the comments written for him by his high priced attorneys. He needs to STFU and consider himself lucky.

Nothing in his appeal demonstrated evidence that the results were flawed or that his sample had been tampered with/compromised in any fashion. All they had was the time delay - the seal was not broken on his sample. So the bottom llne is his testosterone levels were abnormally high and he got off on a technicality thanks to an arbitrator who was working very hard to find a reason to avoid suspension. He was not "exonerated" or "found innocent" in any way, shape or form.

Personally, as I've posted before, I don't give a shit about PEDs because baseball has been tainting its records for years by allowing teams to move fences in/out to accommodate their players and putting "cheaters" like Gaylord Perry in the HOF - he wrote a book about how he doctored baseballs in his career. But as long as MLB has PED rules they should be enforced, and nothing that came out of the appeal proved that Braun didn't break them.

Twice the level of the next highest test ever? That just screams testing blunder to me.

This article claims the test was high, but not unusually so.

A 4:1 ratio triggers a positive test. Braun?s was about 30:1. While that is very high, the lab has seen ratios of 80:1 and higher.)
Personally I think he melted one and got off on a technicality.

I don't really give a shit but the righteous indignation coming from Braun makes me think less of him than I would have if he had simply failed the test.

Why does Selig feel his suspension appeal committee should only consist of 3 people??? That's what I'd like to know.

The 3 person committee arose out of negotiations with the players' union. Selig does not have the authority to unilaterally impose any aspect of drug testing on the players. Both sides have to agree to it.

This, a thousand times.

Methinks he doth protest too much.

It is definitely true that Braun's test results should've never been leaked to the public.

That said, his portrayal of the latest events as him being declared innocent is laughable. He got off on a technicality, the results of which couldn't possibly have elevated the testosterone in the sample. It's like the guy who gets caught stealing, confesses to police, but he wasn't read his rights at the time of his arrest so he beats the rap.

I think this sums up 2012 for Rickey Weeks ... this was strike #3 after taking the first two pitches of the AB over the plate.
