Mike Vick (Pittsburgh Steelers)

No doubt.

The thing I can never understand about stories of athletes being complete idiots is why? I mean he's got money, he's got houses, fame and all that one would assume he could dream of? So why risk it all to make dogs fight each other?

Common sense? What the hell is that.

well vick has another issue... he is getting sued for 63 BILLION...

As if Michael Vick didn't have enough troubles, he may have to fork over $63 billion ? that's billion, with a B ? if one Jonathan Lee Riches prevails in court.

The aptly named Riches' lawsuit against Vick, filed this week in U.S. District Court in Richmond, was handwritten. That's because Riches is currently a guest of the Graybar Hotel in South Carolina (it's not clear which town; his handwriting's a little hard to read). The lawsuit does not explain what landed Riches in the clink, but does spell out a number of dastardly allegations: that Vick supposedly stole Riches' dogs for dogfighting purposes, opened credit cards in Riches' name and stole his copyrighted property. ("Mr. Vick uses my name to sell T-shirts," the suit alleges at one point).

But wait. It gets worse.

Riches claims that Vick sold the pilfered pooches on eBay and used the proceeds to purchase missles from the Iranian government, that he has "plead (sic) allegiance to Al-quaeda" and has subjected Riches to "microwave testing."

Riches is demanding $63 billion "backed by gold and silver." Should he prevail against Atlanta's erstwhile sports hero, at least another hometown team will benefit: he wants the loot delivered by Atlanta-based UPS.

Looks like Vick is going to lose all his endorsements. Nike suspended his contract and wont release any more of his patented shoes and cleats. As well as Reebok is stopping the sale of any Vick jerseys. The news just keeps getting worse and worse for the guy.

Hey Deion, the question isn't was he the ring leader, it's "is this idiot complicit in and taking part in the abuse and violent death of animals?" What an ass.
you should have been at Flowery Branch, GA yesterday with the other PETA wackos.:wink2: Anyhow those people were psychos from the sounds of it, cursing with little kids around and getting in people's faces. I don't understand the protest in Georgia when Vick was in Virginia in court. Those PETA members are a fun bunch......:bonk:

Nike suspends Vick contract without pay

PAUL NEWBERRY

Associated Press

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - Nike suspended its lucrative contract with Michael Vick on Friday, while Reebok took the unprecedented step of stopping sales of his No. 7 jersey. In another dose of bad news for the indicted quarterback, a top trading card company announced it was pulling Vick's likeness from any new packs.
Facing protests from animal-rights groups, Nike announced it was suspending Vick's endorsement deal without pay, as well as halting sales of Vick-related shoes and other products at its retail stores.
"Nike is concerned by the serious and highly disturbing allegations made against Michael Vick, and we consider any cruelty to animals inhumane and abhorrent," Nike spokesman Dean Stoyer said in a statement.

One of Vick's co-defendants in the dogfighting case to have plea agreement hearing on Monday

LARRY O'DELL

Associated Press

RICHMOND, Va. - One of Michael Vick's co-defendants doesn't want to wait for trial.
Instead, a plea agreement hearing has been scheduled for Tony Taylor at 9 a.m. Monday in the federal dogfighting conspiracy case.
Taylor's hearing was added to U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson's docket Friday, a day after he and the other three defendants pleaded not guilty before the same judge. Vick and the others still are scheduled for trial Nov. 26.
Prosecutors claim Taylor, 34, found the Surry County property purchased by Vick and used it as the site of "Bad Newz Kennels," a dogfighting enterprise. The Hampton man also allegedly helped purchase pit bulls and killed at least two dogs that fared poorly in test fights.

WTF??? My post has nothing to do with PETA. Keep deflecting attention from your "man." :roll1:

Many of the dog owners in my neighborhood alone had written Nike at least once. I can't imagine how many letters they received. I'm happy to know that it might have helped.
