Michigan State 35, Northwestern 27 (final)

Just to remind the Sparty rooters our there, Ohio State needs 2 Sparty losses to get to the Rose Bowl. If Sparty beats NW (and assuming they lose to Iowa), that means Ohio State's Rose Bowl hopes rest on them losing to Purdue, Minny or Penn State. I don't like those odds.

I really want to go to the Rose Bowl and plunger rape Boise State, stop this mid-major madness and restore order to the galaxy.

Not entirely true. If a one-loss Ohio State is higher than a one-loss MSU team in the final BCS standings (pretty likely), the Buckeyes would win the tiebreaker and the automatic BCS berth.

I did not know that. I thought most recent Rose Bowl trip was the deciding factor in the absence of a head-to-head result. Thanks for the info.

What I wonder is if, Sparty and Ohio State tie with 1-loss seasons, highly likely they'll both get BCS bids. Will the Big Ten mandate that Sparty goes to the RB based upon most recent appearance and Ohio State be the at-large pick?

No, the higher ranked BCS team will go to the RB-- obviously unless one of them are ranked 1 or 2.

Yeah, the most recent Rose Bowl thing was the rule for years, pre-BCS. As for which bowl we get, I'd be happy with a piece of the conference title and any BCS bowl at this point.
