Michigan ineligible player in PSU game

Well whatever the fans say, it's good to see Paterno say "We had kids on the field, they had kids on the field, and they got more points than we did."

Now, if this were, say, I don't know, a certain lame-brained ego-laden fat-fuck coach who actually managed to argue after a certain bowl game a couple of years ago that his team gave up 600+ yards in that a single review of one play by the replay booth determined the outcome of a game they got ape-fucked in, I imagine the reaction might be a little different...

A Big Ten Conference committee ruled Thursday that Michigan will not be required to forfeit any 2007 football games due to its use of an ineligible player.

The conference's compliance and reinstatement subcommittee ruled on the case of freshman safety Artis Chambers, who played in three of Michgan's games, including its 14-9 victory over then-No. 10 Penn State on Sept. 22.

Chambers will be allowed to retain his athletic scholarship and practice with the team, but will miss the rest of the season.

Athletic director Bill Martin said Saturday that the university immediately contacted the Big Ten after learning that Chambers was ineligible under the conference's freshman rules.

Martin acknowledged Saturday that the university had misinterpreted Big Ten freshman eligibility rules.

"Obviously, I take full responsibility for that," he said. "This isn't on Lloyd -- it's on us."
