Michigan 27, #9 Wisconsin 25 (Final)

Defense. I give 95% of the credit to the defense. Under the circumstances they played brilliantly, I mean, how many drives did Wiscy start in our territory and have to settle for a field goal? Three, four?

Besides, in the second half, offense looked pretty good. It wasn't like the whole game was played badly, just the first half.
The inept Wisky offense made Michigan's defense look better than they actually were. I've seen Michigan's defense this year...not impressive.

And as far as the offense? You have to be kidding me. They still stunk, even at the end. Minor had one big run...a missed tackle...which led to 1 TD. And Threet, against bad tackling and bad defense, had that other run for 58. Even with those two plays, you still only have 174 yards rushing. To go along with going 12 for 31 for 96 Yards 1 TD and 2 Ints passing.

The first half looked like one really bad team, and a good team not taking advantage of how bad the other team was.

The second half looked like TWO REALLY BAD TEAMS.

You got this one handed to you. Enjoy it. Your football team sucks balls.

Thanks. Don't worry....you're just banking the luster points for November 22 :wink2: Besides, it's still the biggest game of the week next week.

I really don't think we see a lot of lustre points for The Game this year, HTM. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see you guys go undefeated until then, but it's possible that neither team could go undefeated and especially you guys.

That was good defense by the Wolverines to get Wisconsin to drop numerous football right on their hands, just not play 2 of their best offensive players in Beckum and Clay because they think they can beat you easily, and get the opposing offensive coordinator to call runs half the time on 3rd and medium to long or pitch the ball on an option to PJ Hill on 3rd and 1 in 4-down territory. Get real, Wisconsin beat their selves. Don't use the word credit or deserves and Michigan in the same sentence after this game, homer. Just enjoy the victory and acknowledge how lucky it was.
Homer? Wow. Jealous much? "Michigan deserves credit." There, I said it. I suppose holding P.J. Hill to 3.2 per carry doesn't mean anything. Your defense, on the other hand, gave up 5.3. The big, bad Wisconsin offensive line and running game got beat. You lost in the trenches.

Either that, or you can have it your way, you really are that bad, and are going to get blown the hell out by OSU next weekend. Or you could man up and accept that you got outplayed in the second half.

Congrats to Mike Hart, coming back to make a successful prediction :p
I think you're short. Did you count the ones on special teams?
:slappy:
For there to be a missed tackle, someone would have had to actually touch Minor.
First missed tackle was awful, completely untouched. A good RB can make the safety look bad, but that LB, sheesh.

The defense did look good in the 2nd half, but they looked good in the 2nd half against Utah too. There are two halves. Everidge is an average QB at best, so they were able to stack the box. That won't happen vs. PSU and Illinois coming up.

Again, 2 halves. It's a good win, and you should absolutely enjoy it, but I wouldn't read too much into one half where the wiscy defense quit attacking and just tried to (and failed miserably) not lose the game. Turnovers are still a HUGE issue, and protecting the ball against a gassed prevent defense isn't a good measuring stick. Wiscy's inept offense kept their D on the field so much they probably couldn't have stopped anybody.

I wish I'd have Tivoed the game so I could go back and look.....but every game I Tivo turns out badly, so it's probably just as well. Anyway, the move of the game wasn't Minor's, it was the one John Thompson put on some lineman on the INT return. Thompson isn't exactly slot-receiver sized himself.

ESPN will often re-air their own games late at night, or later in the weekend. Check your guide.

The Morgan Trent hype looks to be officially finished as well.

On that dropped TD earlier in the game, did they try to drop thompson back into deep coverage (from near the LOS), to help out the lone safety? I was zipping thru to catch up, so I didn't get a good look.

They looked good in the first half too. Wiscy's average field position in the first half was their own 44. They started their first two drives inside our 40 and came away with two field goal tries. I think they did a great job keeping the game close-ish.
