MichaeLLLLLLLLL "0-9" ‘Bike’ Hart (douchebag)

You are correct about the thigh bruise.1) 4.40 was the fastest combine time last year, peterson/pittman/etc.

2) He doesn't run like a 4.4/4.5 guy imo... more 4.6/7 material, especially in combine times.

3) 40 time should be irrelevant for someone who wants hart imo... I want to know about his mileage and running style at the next level. I know he can ball.

1) I didn't think it was a 4.4 flat, nor do I think he legitimately runs a 4.4
2) I don't know about 4.6-7, but agree to disagree
3) I think his pass pro abilities as well as his tendency to turn negative runs into 4-5 yard gains will make him a solid backup who can step in and have a big game on occasion
4) Since we're on the topic of 40s and I wanted to know this, what is Ginn's 40 time?

I think he plays like a 4.65 guy, but might train up to the lower 4.5's.

I agree completely... ironically one of the least NFL-esque RB prospects to emerge from UM may prove to be the most successful. I can see him being a Michael Turner type.

4.28 was the latest I've got (from the OSU 40 yard dash board. My favorite is still Andy Groom, the punter, running a 4.51). He was about 70-80% during pro day last april.

Wait, so Ginn was 70-80% and ran 4.28?????????

No, he ran a 4.40. He's saying at 100% he could run a 4.28.
Right, he ran a 4.38 at pro day for the scouts (I believe that was electronic), when he wasn't fully recovered. I was referencing the time he ran while on the osu team, during their testings.

I could easily see a GM taking a chance on Hart in the second.

He really plays with a lot of passion. And he has the things that translate at the next level: Sure hands, excellent vision, pass blocking, and tough running.

A lot of times good college RBs have a hard time in the NFL because they lack some of the traits that aren't as transferable. I think Mike Hart has these transferable talents.

It's similar to the transition from HS RBs to college RBs. In HS you don't need to pass block, and you can rely on your speed to get you by and excel at that level.

But when you excel based on transferable talents like good vision and tough running AND you have speed, that's when you have someone special (AD, Chris Wells). That's the difference between them and those other hundred scuttlebugs that head out to college with a large resume and don't really show it much on the field until they develop vision and pass blocking.

The other thing Hart has is the one cut and go mentality. He doesn't dance around, and that's a good thing for all backs not named Barry Sanders.

FWIW, I agree with Jwin about 40 times being largely irrelevant. I truly do not understand how people in power in the NFL will forgo 4 years of film on a kid and put it all in on a few running drills and how high the kid jumps. I suppose not every GM does that, but when I see Troy Williamson getting drafted in the top 10 because he's fast, despite the fact that he can't catch, I know people still get wowed by the combine workout numbers. That being so, I don't think Hart's 40 will help, though it's something I'd personally ignore to large extent.

I agree. The all-time leading rusher at University of Michigan? Didn't he get that record? That, alone, gets him drafted, regardless of how many touchdowns or carries he has, or his ypc or ypg averages. Actually making it past 2-3 years in the NFL will rely on production.

Nothing yet. Lloyd made sure to get 21 carries in for him in the first half though. Unreal. Minor was also injured, and from what I hear worse than Mike.

If Hart is out for an extended period of time things could get ugly. I am one of "those guys" that thing Hart is most likely the most deserving person for the Heisman because he's basically carrying tsun on his back. Without him the pass threat doesn't open and Henne could look very average.

this is what it comes down to...hart=great college RB...taking a step back from the tOSU slant he is very good...i understand that he gets 40+ touches a game and will probably wear out before the pros but he is still a great back....

with that said i dont think he really has a future in the NFL and either do most of the scum fans that i have been talking to...

I think he has a future, IF he can stay healthy. No one's ever going to give him 20+ carries per game, but he'd be a very good backup IMO, especially in a zone blocking scheme.
