Was this in the news 2 years ago, or was this somehow covered up (by the team, or otherwise) since March 2024?
Obviously, the accident and the death of the passenger is the worst part, but I'm curious about the cover-up, if any. If I'm an owner of an NFL team, I think that's my concern. You don't cover up an accident if there's nothing to cover up.

Plus, as an owner I have to wonder what else has been covered up over the player's career. Generally for people who operate in a reckless manner it is not an isolated incident (see Georgia football players driving for confirmation).

As an NFL owner, the longstanding MO has been that you don't give a damn about any of it if the player can help you on the field.
