Miami (FL) Hurricanes (1926-2003)

The QB's that stick around as backups is so random. Lots of fringe starters are out of the NFLJarret Stidhamm and Mason Rudolf stick around?
Yeah, if you look at the backups on a lot of NFL teams, it's like a who's who of guys that were once highly recruited guys or good system college QBs(i.e. Jake Browning, Jeff Driskel, Case Keenum, Stetson Bennett). Find the right system and you can ride it out following a coach and/or coordinator to multiple spots

I think it’s basically just guys who are good at learning and executing complicated playbooks. Gimmicks don’t work long term in the NFL, offensive coordinators want to be able to call all their plays. They’ll sacrifice raw talent for guys who know the playbook almost every time, from my limited observations.

Still doesn't change the way he went about it. Fuck him, fuck Miami, and fuck Cokehead Irvin.
You know, everyone always talks about "coke off a hookers ass". Michael has lived the dream for real.

“THEY STOLE ONE.” Pro Football Hall of Famer and Miami alum Michael Irvin has been running victory laps in the media since the Hurricanes beat the Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl. That includes an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, where Irvin explained why Miami’s win over Ohio State meant a little extra to him.

“There was nothing better than beating Ohio State because they stole one,” Irvin said.

Why do I share this blasphemous Irvin take about the 2003 national championship game now?

Because Miami plays Ole Miss in the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday, and I’d better not see any Ohio State fans rooting for the Hurricanes so the Buckeyes’ loss looks better. No. No. No. Miami kicked Ohio State’s butt. Now I want to see Ole Miss take Mario Cristobal’s team to the woodshed.

(And yes, I’m also rooting for the Rebels because I’ve enjoyed watching them stick it to Lane Kiffin.)

There's a lot of cope around these parts, we absolutely should have kept them down on the mat with this years team. Lots of blame to go around, but, they had no business beating us in Texas. Now, life is breathed back into them. Could have nailed the coffin. Instead, someday soon, this thread title will be changed just like IU's was.

Would love to be wrong in 3 or 4 years and they suck again. I'll be the first to quote this post and say "get a load of this retard."

Meh, I wouldn’t panic about any specific program right now.

It’s clear with what’s happening in the portal right now, that a program is going to live and die by how they manage it. Tie the portal management to recruiting and NIL and we’ll see.

I will give Miami some level of props. They invested HEAVILY in defensive and offensive line with HS recruits knowing it’d take multiple years to pay off.

It finally did this year. They’ll take a big step back next year with all the talent they lose across both lines but I do give them credit for getting to where they are this year. JMO.
