The QB's that stick around as backups is so random. Lots of fringe starters are out of the NFLJarret Stidhamm and Mason Rudolf stick around?
Yeah, if you look at the backups on a lot of NFL teams, it's like a who's who of guys that were once highly recruited guys or good system college QBs(i.e. Jake Browning, Jeff Driskel, Case Keenum, Stetson Bennett). Find the right system and you can ride it out following a coach and/or coordinator to multiple spots

I think it’s basically just guys who are good at learning and executing complicated playbooks. Gimmicks don’t work long term in the NFL, offensive coordinators want to be able to call all their plays. They’ll sacrifice raw talent for guys who know the playbook almost every time, from my limited observations.
