Miami (FL) Hurricanes (1926-2003)

Miami is still under probation, so I see a little more than nothing happening.

I dunno.

I expected North Carolina to get blown up. Probably the worst of the lot.

I thought something would come from all the Ole Miss shenanigans. At a minimum I expected the press to jump all over them and dig through their trash and make everything seem nefarious...even the above board stuff.

I figured Auburn would get in trouble when it was confirmed they paid Cam's dad.

I expected the press to take a run at Bama when they fired a coach for recruiting violations and jettisoned a prospect at the same time... but no one bothered to even ask what happened.

And two NCAA investigators go round the outside....round the outside..

I don't know. OSU gets all the outsized attention for free tattoos because mentioning OSU means a shit ton of eyeballs. Ole Miss, not so much, and isn't the UNC thing still not finished being looked into (going on what, 3 years now?)? Miami can bring lots of eyeballs, though, if there's not already a bunch on the press' plate that a story worth more eyeballs won't get crowded out. Baylor got damn lucky at all the shit that's happened, and Miami may be the next benefactor of more eyeballs being drawn by all the other stuff happening as this got out.

I don't even know if Miami generates that much interest outside of south Florida anymore. 10 years ago, sure. But they haven't been relevant nationally since 2004. They're the football equivalent of Virginia or NC State now.

I don't think it's fair to say they generate much interest inside south Florida either.

Miami is a 2nd tier P5 program. With a bandwagon fan base, that barely attended games when they were good-great. Heck, FSU gets more coverage in SoFLA than Miami. Few people nationally actually give a damn about Miami. Baylor only gets a ton of pub because of the amount of crimes committed, and they've actually been good recently. Even if something came of this, it wouldnt even be a top story nationally.
