Miami (FL) Hurricanes (1926-2003)

Miami might have the toughest schedule in the country, and if the team can win 9 or 10 games and finish somewhere around the Top 10, many would consider that a very successful season

Miami plays @ Current #2, #15, and #16

Penn State plays @ Current #1, #2, #9

How could they even say that they might have the toughest?

I'll miss those damn triple threat wings. Not the thug fans on the patio where I used to sit during games.

My Uncle goes there for all Buckeyes and Browns games. He was there for the 02 NC game he said the look of shock on those thugs faces when Will Smith caught Willis Mcgehee from behind was almost better than being at the game...

Wed, practice notes/Still no Latwan

Lots of good news for the Hurricanes on the injury front after Wednesday?s practice. Coach Randy Shannon said tackle Joel Figueroa and receiver LaRon Byrd returned to practice. In Shannon-speak, they are no longer nicked. Both were ?full go? during drills. Their clean bill of health does wonders for the position. Although Jermaine Johnson was impressive in Fig?s absence, you have to think quarterback Jacory Harris feels much more comfortable with a senior protecting the right side.
Byrd?s (knee) return is also a positive. It was feared he would be rested the FAMU game, but now he should have playing time under his belt entering Ohio State the following week.
A few thoughts:
?ESPN analyst Todd Blackledge, who attended Monday?s scrimmage, was critical of the receivers because of dropped passes. Shannon was upset by the performance, too, but said the rainy conditions could have played a factor. Still, Shannon expressed his disappointment.
?We need to catch those balls,? he said.
?Shannon was asked innocently to clear up any confusion about Tuesday?s interview with WQAM. He listed Mike James, Damien Berry and Lamar Miller as the three running backs in the rotation. Some thought he was naming James the starter, but Shannon said no decision was made. In fact, he reversed the order of the names Wednesday just to prove a point.
?With the running back rotation announced, look for freshmen Storm Johnson and Eduardo Clements to compete for one of the kick/punt return spots.
?Shannon won?t say but Alonzo Highsmith Jr., has all but locked up the backup quarterback job. As expected.
?Incoming freshman Latwan Anderson is on campus, but has yet to report to the football or track program. Anderson, a top 20 recruit, signed a track scholarship but will also play football.

Yep paying for the mistake of hiring coker after Butch left. I could of been cool with him coaching 1 year while searched for a replacement. But thanks again Paul Dee you lazy fat Muther ******.

New book to allege violations made by University of Miami football - Sports Buzz - MiamiHerald.com

Now, facing years in prison for allegedly running a Ponzi scheme, Shapiro is writing a book about the UM football program in which he alleges former Canes players committed NCAA violations....

Shapiro has said he was close with Jon Beason, Devin Hester, Antrel Rolle, Randy Phillips, Robert Marve, Kyle Wright and others when they played at UM, plus former UM assistant coach/recruiting coordinator Clint Hurtt, now at Louisville.
``This will be a tell-all book from a fan and booster perspective,'' said Shapiro, who did not attend UM. But why write a book that will hurt UM?
``I want to make the average fan aware of what really exists under that uniform,'' he said. ``They might be great players, but they're certainly not great people. I'm speaking of no less than 100 former players.''.....

Some players call Shapiro ``Little Luke'' after Luther Campbell, who years ago gave cash to UM players for big hits...

This is going to get awesome, hopefully!!!! My guess is an alum in the NFL pays hush money to him and it this book is never seen.
