Miami (FL) Hurricanes (1926-2003)

Several injured Hurricanes to miss season opener | CollegeFootballTalk.com

Among the Miami Hurricanes to miss Thursday's season opener against Florida A&M will be junior defensive end Andrew Smith, who has an undisclosed "upper extremity" injury.

Smith, who had a stellar preseason with five sacks in two scrimmages, earned a starting spot with the #13 ranked Hurricanes for this season.

Other injured Hurricanes include linebacker Jordan Futch, who is still recovering from a knee injury, offfensive tackle Jermaine Johnson, defensive tackle Micanor Regis and safety Jamal Reid. All are listed as questionable and could be a game-time decision. Johnson, Regis and Reid's injuries have been classified as either "upper" or "lower" extremity injuries.

Fullback John Calhoun, offensive lineman Jermaine Barton and linebackers Travis Williams and Kevin Nelson are listed as out for the opener due to undisclosed injuries.

With Miami's injuries mounting, Vegas now has A&M as a favorite in the points spread by a margin of +38.

i think o state will win and that it will be there "staple" game when talking about the best teams in the nation at the end of the year. people will refer to this game later on.

also, does anyone know why they call miami the "u"? it's because that's all their players can spell.

I'm afraid of the opposite. If we win and Miami goes on to have a mediocre year then we will have beat a "nobody" team. If we lose then it will be spun as us not being able to win the "big game".

i could see that happening, but i think that miami will end the regular season in the top 25 like they did last season. they have more experience and i think that skinny testevarde will be tough.

Re: But it remains amazing how none of it would have happened if someone had gotten paid off or, in Shapiro's case, someone's feelings weren't hurt.
Miami about to be taken down by a rat. Fair? - CBSSports.com

Well, haven't you heard the old addage: "Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned; Nor hell a fury like a booster/agent scorned".

You can sense a coherent point struggling to burst through that article, but alas...

From the comments:

And dont tell me they all do it because if they did, there would be A LOT more parody in college football because these players would spread out a lot more than they do.
I would like to state for the record that I am firmly in favor of more parody in college football.

incidents like that occur at each miami home game. remember, this is a fanbase that condones, if not embraces, thug behavior:

(yes, fiu fans are cheering, too; however, there is little difference between fiu and miami fans)
