should it not be the same case for Miami? they have been cheating and wrongdoing since their rise to power in the 1980s........

This is a pleasant surprise. Mark Emmert tells USAToday that the COI isn't against using the Death Penalty:

Latest rumor I heard was that when he hit hard times with money, he asked for help from the former athletes (currently in the NFL) for some help and they turned him down. That's why he released everything.

Again, that's just a rumor.

Not a rumor. He's directly quoted saying exactly that in the Yahoo story.

Now as to whether he's being honest about his motivation is a completely different issue.
