I couldn't tell if that was a joke or if he was speaking so quickly it just slipped out that way.

What's even better, is they have had knowledge of this rogue midget for a long time...

Oh good, I'm not the only one who looked at the pics and thought he was a dwarf...

That said; I'm still hung up on D1 players having to pay for snatch. I mean, really fellas? Dressing for the team alone should just about get you whatever you want down there.

Sorry, but if this is Yahoo!'s 10/10 story, its kinda weak for me 6 maybe 7/10... its Miami, they've been busted before for [Mark May] like this so its not like they took a sainted school, like ND, and dropped a hammer so hard that the only way out for the NCAA is the SMU penalty. I'm glad they are digging and finding... but wake me up when its not 1 of 20 schools thats already been busted for [Mark May] like this in the past...

Nothing on this scale has ever come into the light of day like this, though.

To put it in terms a Miami player/fan could grasp, this is every other known Miami infraction to date:

And this is what Shapiro has allegedly done:

Three sources, including two former Miami football players, confirmed that Shaprio offered bounties.
The booster told Yahoo! Sports he had a number of individual payouts for “hit of the game” and “big plays.” He also put bounties on specific players, including Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow and a three-year standing bounty on Seminoles quarterback Chris Rix from 2002 to 2004, offering $5,000 to any player who knocked him out of a game.
“We pounded the (expletive) out of that kid,” Shapiro said of Rix. “Watch the tape of those games. You’ll see so many big hits on him. Guys were all going after that $5,000 in cash. [Jon] Vilma tried to kill him – just crushed him – a couple of times trying to get that $5,000. And he almost got it, too.”

I have to go back and watch that game and see if Tim was taking some dirty hits. I do remember Randy crying about RUTS.

reading the cryami scout board, the cryami fans are taking the same approach USC fans did...."nothing to see here" "this will all blow over" "guy has zero credibility" "ZERO PROOF!!!11"

harsh reality coming for them

I'm sure any fan base would take that approach though so it's not surprising.

THE U!!!!!!!!!!!! It's Hammer Time!!!!!!

I see your point and love the pics but again.. maybe I'm just jaded, but I'm not shocked or surprised... had this been us with this evidence, i woulda shit a brick... but Miami, people ALWAYS talked about how shitty the facilities were down there, hell I was down there in the late 90s that place was a shithole... so no i'm not shocked about some booster throwing tons of cash around at kids and the school..

sucks the one school that nobody I know is a fan of is Miami, I know fans of just about every SEC school + FSU USF UCF, but no Miami, lame
That is why we always say Miami's fan base is a mile wide and an inch deep....wait for a bad year or two and they are not to be found.

I feel bad for Matt and Andre. They both go on official Miami recruiting visits - and are both taken to Shapiro's house by the freaking Miami coaches, in one case the recruiting coordinator - who in Andre's case then takes him and two others to a night club and a strip club.

I think it a little unreasonable for a 17 year old kid on a recruiting trip with his potential position coach* to later jump out of a car driven by a Miami staff member (in front of two other stud recruits) in that situation and yell, "No!....No man - no gorgeous nude girls for me!!!! Take me home NOW!!"

So now both Matt and Andre are in the news and labeled bad kids for essentially going on official recruiting trips. Assholes.

* Aubrey f-in Hill, BTW

What about the times he allegedly provided Debose with all those benefits without any mention of coaches present?

On SportsCenter, Pat Forde was questioned, and he talked about the possibility of the NCAA Death Penalty for Miami, so it's not like ESPN is glossing this over.

I recorded it and only watched the Miami story, just to see how they treated it, for those ready to question why I would watch that show. :wink2:

Just over at the Miami board and if that was once true it no longer is. They are asking what comes after death penalty.
