NCAA fires VP of enforcement

Miami is totally going to get away with it.

Remind me again why we "cooperated fully"?

We cooperated. Still got slapped with a bowl ban. Regardless of whether it was the right thing to do (it was), the NCAA showed with its punishment that there is no incentive to cooperate.

And Ohio State still would play it the same way every time. Why? Because they aren't Cryami or U$C....

Sure, but I guarantee you that schools like Cryami, USC, Auburn, etc. took notice. And now Miami is about to benefit.

The NCAA did itself no favors in its OSU punishment. It rarely does itself any favors. Joke organization.

You don't know Cryami is about to get away with anything (the evidence is very damning) and for another, who really gives a fuck what other schools do? In the end it's about the integrity of Ohio State - fuck the rest of them.

Hey look, you agree with the Pedsters! Congrats!

j/k of course

Universities will go on doing things that are actually important with or without sports teams, it's about the integrity of the athletic departments. Athletic departments that are a part of a racket which uses "students" to generate billions of dollars.

Just saying - I seem to remember several people on here and other sites saying the JT/Tattoogate scandal either tarnished or had the potential to tarnish their degree and the perception and integrity thereof. After that, it was a nearly universal demand for Ohio State to perform the proper functions to the get to the bottom of the scandal.

You can put as much or as little weight into that concept as you want I guess.

As for the rest of it, meh - that's another topic for another thread.

Couldn't disagree more. USC's punishment compared to OSU's showed there is incentive to cooperate.

I'd hit it. And repeatedly. Right up the pooper. Even if she is unemployed. (She might be able to use a little coin right about now.)

They already have received sufficient sanctions that they have in no way gotten away with anything. We may believe they haven't paid enough for their "sins," but I guess we need to look at it like they've bought a bunch of indulgences.

We need to get over this butthurt over the U and appreciate what we've got in Urban Meyer.

So are major research departments. Many postgrads are little more than indentured labor.

I tend to agree with this. In the past Ohio State's history of co-operation has actually served them well.
