OSU is 5-3 in BCS games...IMO thats damn good. In 2008 we lost to Texas with 16 seconds on the clock. The bashing comes from our championship game debacles.
With that being said what is the B10's record in BCS when not playing USC? I best we are around 70%...I mean the SEC gets to play Hawaii and Cincy in their BCS games...
While I agree that our BCS record is quite good, our recent OoC games have been lackluster when going up against a big opponent, and coupled with the BCS record hasn't helped:
2005, Texas - Lost, BCS - Won
2006, Texas - Won, BCS - Lost
2007, No big OOC, BCS - Lost
2008, USC - Lost, BCS - Lost
2009 - USC - Lost, BCS - Won
So, for the last 5 seasons we have went 6-3 when going up against a big opponent outside of our conference.
That 2002 game was a great coupe to hang our hats on, but its quickly getting further and further away.
Beating Miami, IMO, will help us and our reputation in a BIG way. We split Texaws and went ofer with USC.
