I'm not stressing this game a lot...which for me is surprising.

I look at it like this: If we're an elite team, we beat Miami handily. Wisconsin beat them last year, they've been an average squad for years now, they are extremely beatable. Again, if we deserve to play for a national title, this is a team we suffocate.

I liked JT's approach against Marshall (stepped on the throat when the opportunity was there) and I hope he treats Miami like the red headed step-child.

IMO, he gave too much respect to USC last year, and played it too close tot he vest. But he also played it conservative against Navy last year and tried to take the high-ground. I've never seen JT go Steve Spurier on an OCC opponent just cause....until last week. He's brewing something under that sweater....

JT knows this is a championship squad, and I think we see that on Saturday. Miami has athletes but are far from a good/great football team. In fact, they're very average. If we're elite, we display just how average they are at 3:30 eastern, on ESPN.

Harris is a playmaker for Miami. He will burn our defense quite a few times. Miami will make big plays and they will score. I think the key to beating Miami is the O-line. They have to play lights out. Besides, good play from the O-line makes the rest of the offese's job easier.

Miami whining overshadows program

The incessant whining by every Miami fan I know overshadows many of the positive things about their program.
Randy Shannon seems like a stand-up guy from what I know of him. It says a lot about his character to have the success he has after his childhood... really intense stuff.
The fans are putting pressure on the players to avenge a loss that has no relevance to these kids. I'm curious to see the affect this has on the players.

Look, I know that Miami has a history of having some real criminals come through that program, and Randy Shannon ain't one of them. He deserves credit for that. But his flagrant abuse of the scholarship rules and cutting players from the team to make room for problem recruits pretty much crosses "stand-up guy" off the list of descriptors that you can fairly apply to him. Is he much better than the crooks that used to run that prison? Definitely. Is he Jim Tressel/Mack Brown/Bo Pelini? Uh, no. He's closer to Nick Saban/Lane Kiffin/Pete Carrol in the cavalier attitude he takes toward how the program is run.

I'm largely with you on your thinking. Totally agree about playing it too close to the sweater vest in these types of games. Tressel kinda broke with that in the Rose Bowl but as well as the Bucks played, it was anyone's game until the late Posey TD. Harris will score some points. Pryor will have to score more.

My biggest worry is our O line handling the speed off the edge. Can Mike Adams handle what Miami is going to bring there?

Wouldn't bother me if we can, to just run it down their throat like Wisky did, but I sense Pryor might have to throw it 30 times.

I've been the same way.

I'm usually in the "we'll see how it goes" crowd when the big games get brought up among friends. Not this year. I've (mistakenly?) simply looked at anyone that brings this game up and said, "I'm not worried. At all. 2 touchdown game."

The game, and this season for that matter, is there for the taking for the Buckeyes. I'd be extremely disappointed if Ohio State doesn't out-class Miami this Saturday. I feel very confident they will.
