Miami +12.5 at Notre Dame (ov/un 51.5) Sat 7:30 NBC

With all due respect to shark, I'm afraid the 5,000 fans who showed up at the last Miami home game are going to think twice before they buy tickets for the next one after this debacle.

All good, Jake.

I just turned to ESPN, and suddenly feel MUCH better.

Sorry the game didn't turn out well, shark. I had to post this one though...one of your buddies was talkin' trash before the game. Unfortunately he did the same before the Sun Bowl a few years ago. He should probably stop posting on Youtube:

He put a clip from Rudy in for the first minute, for some reason. Didn't really do anything for his rant

As far as the game went, I think the fact that Miami's defense was completely overmatched by an average (Sometimes horrible) offense proves that the Big 10 teams this year are still playing great defense. September wasn't good, but the way I see it theres a rebuilding year for many Big 10 teams aside from the Ohio State and a couple others.

Aside from the first series, which was a little scary, the defense looked good again. I was a bit surprised that this is the only team that has never been behind in a game this year, especially considering how lackluster the offense has been. I'm not sure if Notre Dame changed coverage or what, but Miami didn't really throw the long ball much after that first series. Biggest surprise defensively was that we didn't get after Morris as often as we had been the last few weeks. That could be due to Miami being a better passing team than the previous teams we faced, but I wasn't worried about Miami's offensive line going into this and they performed better than people previously suggested.

Next week will be a rough game against Stanford. They're beatable, but they're still a smash mouth team since Harbaugh left and they've had us outmatched every year for the last 4 years at least. College Gameday will be there, hoping it's at least a close game.

370-some rushing yards is nothing to sneeze at.
methinks this NoD team might be legit. :sick1:

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. Miami's defense was no Big 10 defense. Offensively they showed glimpses of that passing attack, but they had problems holding onto the ball and the vertical game disappeared early for them.

I think Notre Dame's rushing yards were indicitive of two things:
1. Miami didn't load the box against the Irish like Michigan State, Michigan, and Purdue did. This may have been because Everett Golson had his best game passing the ball, giving the Irish more of a deep threat.

2. Notre Dame switched to a different blocking scheme this year, and the offensive line didn't adjust well in my opinion. Despite Miami's defensive front not being as highly touted, the Irish's O-line executed better than they had previously. It also helps that guys like George Atkinson III have emerged as legitamate playmakers. Theo Riddick and Cierre Wood are no slouches either, and even 4th string Cam McDaniel made it into the mix. All 4 backs scored a TD tonight. With the long drives Notre Dame was sustaining through the game, Miami looked pretty gassed late in the 3rd quarter.

Thats a little sad. I know the Canes have fallen on some hard times in recent years, but even in the last 20 years of less than mediocrity Notre Dame could fill their stadium. Support your team!

People in Miami are too busy eating each others faces 'n' shit... Snortin' the next greatest designer "bath salt".
