MI LB Daelin Hayes (Notre Dame Signee)

Thanks NorthCoast, I get that, makes infinite sense. Now, take Fickell along so after the smoozing has taken place, his position coach can show him how the staff would play him and when (and when?). In this case, too many cooks (coaches) do NOT spoil the broth. This assumes that the coaches go in there with a stable game plan, rather than 'winging it'. Urb is too polished to do otherwise. Anyone get a sense on how Daelin goes? ND has a strong draw, certainly, although I can see how the LB corps of tOSU will turn over in two years, leaving 3-4 LBs to step up, and Daelin can be one of them.....Go Bucks!

HAYES WILL SEE MEYER THIS WEEK, DECISION COMING

The race for Daelin Hayes is entering its final leg.

On Thursday of this week, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer and Tony Alford–who has been recruiting Hayes since his time at Notre Dame–will make their final pitch for the four-star linebacker.

Notre Dame, who visited Hayes today at Ann Arbor's Skyline High School, remains the favorite to land the 6-foot-4, 235-pounder and they'll take their final at-home visit with him next Monday. Hayes—who will enroll in January—took to Twitter this evening to lay out his announcement plans.

There are some close to the Buckeyes that feel they're in a good spot to scoop in and land Hayes but there's been no letdown in confidence from South Bend. Thursday night will be the decider for Ohio State but it's going to be hard to defeat the Irish here.

DAELIN HAYES VISIT OFF

Last night, 247Sports.com had the news first that the scheduled in-home visit between Ohio State and Daelin Hayes Thursday night would be cancelled and not rescheduled. I wanted to do a little bit of digging before commenting on the change of plans, so here's what I have been able to find out.

Prior to the start of the Buckeyes' game against Michigan State, Hayes actually informed the coaching staff of his intention to join Ohio State's recruiting class, but since that day contact between the two sides has waned and the buzz of that visit wore off.

Thursday night's visit was going to be Tony Alford, who–as we've discussed–has been recruiting Hayes for a couple of years now and is the closest member of the Ohio State staff to him along with Urban Meyer. Alford, sensing that things had begun to shift asked the four-star linebacker this week to be up front with the Buckeyes about their chances and to let them know if a visit would be wasting their time.

Shortly thereafter, the visit was canceled and even though I am not a math major, I can put two and two together and get Hayes = Notre Dame.
