Men's Basketball Buckeye Tidbits 2007-08 Season

Wisc , Pur and Ill are rebuilding , more or less as we are and the bottom dwellers are who they are. Some teams have new(er) coaches and have lost their stars. It' will take a few weeks to stir the pot before the conference gets settled.

Nod to pick on just you but if you think Purdue, Wisconsin, and Illinois are rebuilding you should look at Iowa:)

Thats because I was being nice and just didn't mention that the bottom 5 teams are just sitting in the bowl waiting to be flushed.:wink2:

I would put Illinois over Wisconson, I think they will have a better year, and be just as tough of an opponent for us tis year.

Illinois has a ton of question marks, with who is and isnt on the team...That is why I am taking a wait and see approach with them, but they don't have anything in the backcourt...

Wisky has a very solid frontcourt, and a solid 3 guard rotation in the backcourt with Flowers, Bohannon, and Hughes...

Illinois got 3 or 4 very good schollies that just might surprise.

I am expecting McCamey and Watkins to play in the backcourt, and IMO while good recruits, I don't think they are the kind that will set the world on fire as frosh...Don't get me wrong they very well good, but I just don't see it...The problem is they don't have anything returning in their backcourt...

I am not sure on the big guys that they have coming in or the JC SF, but they already have a pretty strong frontcourt, so I am not sure how much time those recruits are going to see...

I agree , McCamey and Watkins will have to develop while playing and learning the level that they will be playing against. I don't see Illinois finishing above Wisc.

I see and hear a bunch of good things about the BB Bucks and from that I can only assume that the Bucks will be in the top three in the conference. How well they fare against MSU and IND remains to be seen. I do feel that , right now, these two teams will be our main competion this year. If the Buckeyes all play up to potential then we will win the conference again.

So much will depend on KK and how fast he becomes a dominant force in the Big 10. I think the Big 10 play is quite different than what he faced over in Europe this past summer. Even though the Big 10 might be college it probably will be a lot more physical:io:

Three teams have new coaches ,Minn - Tubby Smith, Beilin - MIch and Likliter to Iowa. all 3 teams were in the dumper so I don't them doing much.
The Buckeyes are young and inexperienced and a lot has to do with just how fast they can develop. They all will go tthrough more growing pains than last years crop will do. I would believe it if the team all thought they were ranked high at # 3.
