I think that has more to do with recruits not knowing what kid of defensive front OSU was going to utilizeWe have had somewhat of a dry spell when it comes to elite edge rushers (JTT and Jack). Let's get this dude.
Just look up Nyckoles Harbor at South Carolina…I'll be very impressed if he's successful playing WR and DE in college. I would think optimizing for one would significantly reduce effectiveness at the other. It would be really cool to see him be successful, though.
OSU couldn’t land this kid unless they emptied the entire rest of their NIL war chest for the year. Kids like won’t end up at a school like OSU, because they are looking to get the biggest deal possible, and a school the size of Maryland is not only his hometown school, but has the money from their collective to offer Elee 7 figures along with a ton of incentives that OSU just wouldnt(and frankly doesn’t have to). What Maryland can offer Elee, is like what Ojo is being offered at Tech, and that’s the type of deals that a mid tier school can throw at 1 exact recruit. And on top of that, Elee now wants to play both sides of the ball, in no way would OSU allow that insanity. They just told the reigning Mr. Football in OH who’s a QB for ‘26 to keep rocks because he wanted to play baseball along with football. In the immortal words of Yogi, 'it ain't over, until it's over'. Again, the question is how much money does it take to overtake the hometown/state advantage? Wonder if tOSU will take a run at this guy, as LJsr might be getting a bit desperate. Also wonder how much pressure Day puts on him to 'keep up' with his other recruiters? Can visualize this year as being the turning point, what with an entire new DL, which will see how well LJsr does with these players. But have learned (?) not to underestimate LJsr, who appears to be the energizer bunny of coaches.
