Ha--good point. :wink2: No, I don't. And you're right about Kiper. I thought his comments last night, though, on the radio were pretty ridiculous. The question was which player hurt his draft stock most at the combine, and his immediate response was Malcolm Jenkins. Solely based on the 40 time. No mention of Malcolm blowing up the 20 yard cone drill.

How is the OT from Alabama not the obvious answer to that question? Or Derrick Williams, who Kiper bent over backwards to make excuses for. If you're a WR who at the combine showed yourself to be slow and unable to catch the ball, how can you be a contributor in the NFL?

Just thought Mel's comments last night were pretty bad, albeit out of character.

I seriously wouldn't doubt some pressure to make comments like that. That sounds like paranoia, but I'll always remember Colin Cowherd on radio blasting upper-managemnt at ESPN for calling on air-talent to pile on and make the tOSU story huge.

He wouldn't do it, called out ESPN management, and admitted he was given a stern talking too. Which is why I always give him a pass when he rips he tOSU...

but us Ohio State fans are rabid....as much as we hate hearing negative talk about our guys, we have rabbit ears to it. And ESPN knows that. We have the biggest, relevant, fanbase in the country, so it makes sense to use our guys as the poster-children in the draft when they can. It's funny to me that Mel says Malcolm lost the most in the draft but still ranks him his #1 CB. Or that Beanie's combine was terrible, yet he still has Beanie as his #1 back. It's a win-win for these guys. They get the extra hits and buzz for ripping tOSU players, but save face come draft day when Malcolm is the first CB taken and Beanie goes in the middle of the draft.

I just wish the analysis had some substance and quality information. Again a 4.59 from Beanie and 4.53 from Malcolm, aren't even close to bad times in retrospect. Unless you just think this class is the slowest class in the last 15 years and they run with concrete in their shoes.

Which one of the 12 steps is it when an addict knows whats going on, knows he shouldn't do it but does it anyway?

Whatever step it is, it's where OSU fans in general are regarding their addiction to the media saying anything negative about anything OSU related.

I'm all for the intervention. Just let it go.

In fairness to McShay a mock draft isn't who he thinks SHOULD go #1, it's who he thinks WILL go #1. It looks like Detroit has targeted Stafford so obviously he's going to put him at #1 in the mock draft. Now if he put Stafford at #1 in his top players list or whatever it is where the list the players as to how good they think they are, then yes that would be very hypocritical. Mayock is definitely the best of the three for me, that guy actually studies tons of film and knows what he looking at. He's also the only one of the three to play in the NFL.

The reasoning behind why he thinks players will go wherever he says is the problem.

Gotcha, I really don't care enough about his opinion to read up on it so I'll take your word for it.

Well, he puts a ton of stock into the Combine. Dropped Malcolm because he ran a few hundredths of a second slower than he should've, apparently. He causes a stir. He's good at that, which is probably why he's getting paid.

Mike & Mike have a segment called "Mock McShay" where listeners send in insults to McShay. I find some of them quite hilarious. There was one about it being good that McShay left the front of the Lucky Charms box long enough to draft stuff, and that he's the babysitter for Kiper's cat.. I laughed.
