last time I tried to go to one was for the spring game a couple years ago when is was freezing cold and everyone bailed, I am down but everyone better show up this time :p

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure about the Thursday thing...however, I do like the fact that we are kicking off the season early. I mean, The shorter the time between the ending gun of the last game and the opening kickoff of the next season.

But, we don't need any goddamn gimmicks. As it was said before, we are THE Ohio State University, and we can do whatever the fuck we want. I suppose we've been dominating Saturdays for so many years, its time to start dominating the rest of the week.

When Marshall last visited in 2004, I was a valet at a hotel in downtown Columbus. Their fans showed up pretty thick, and they seemed pretty cool overall, and they brought lots of beer. But apparently not enough. :)

Before my shift was over at 1 am, I was approached by a drunk-ass Herd fan, who wanted me to go get his group more beer. I said OK, how much? He said how much can you get? I said how much you got? He said enough! So I said I can get you enough! He started flipping through 20's and said get a case per 20, and keep the change, and then here's an extra 20 for the trouble.

I trekked about half a block and got them about 6 cases of the cheapest beer in the place and rolled out with enough money in my own pocket to get them about 2 more cases of beer, but they didn't care. We both won that night, and little did I know that they would almost win the next day LOL.

If I would have had a guaranteed room to sleep in that evening, I have a feeling I would be friends with about 25-30 Marshall fans. ('Cause that's how them damn West Virginians' roll)

They seemed cool at the time... all silliness aside, this one won't come down to a 55 yard field goal. I hope they bring enough beer this time. But if I am in Cbus that Friday night, I think I know where I'm gonna chill...

I wouldn't worry about this too much because this will only give Ohio State more prep time to worry about Miami the Saturday after. That'd be a critical game to see where they will stand between being a Rose Bowl contender or National Championship contender.

Agreed. Not traditional but if it helps set us up for our first real test then I am all for the break in tradition.

The good news is that students won't be back yet, so short of football, campus is relatively empty.

Chances are, the football lots will be open only for football parking after 5am on gameday. Anyone else will be sent to west campus.

I recall working the Wyoming game a few years back, which was a Thursday Night (Eddie Robinson Classic) game. I was working East Stadium at the time and parking was off limits to anyone without a football parking pass for that lot the whole day.

Traffic will be a problem, no doubt. So go early and start drinking.

FB: Big Ten Conference Announces 2010 Prime Time Football Schedule
Ohio State opens the season against Marshall Thursday night, Sept. 2 on the Big Ten Network

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State will play in at least three prime time football games during the 2010 season, the Big Ten Conference and ESPN/ABC announced Wednesday.

The season kicks off under the lights at the Horseshoe Thursday, Sept. 2, as Marshall University comes to Columbus for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on the Big Ten Network.

Ohio State also will play in two night games on the road during the conference season at Wisconsin and Minnesota. The Oct. 16 game in Madison will kick off at 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPN or ESPN2. Two weeks later, the Buckeyes return north to take on the Gophers at 8 p.m. ET Oct. 30 at the new TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on either ABC or ESPN.

The Big Ten also announced that the Buckeyes’ game with Miami (FL) on Sept. 11 will have a 3:40 p.m. kickoff on ESPN.

Ohio State is 33-16 all-time in night games (games starting 5 p.m. or later local time). Under head coach Jim Tressel, the Buckeyes are 15-10 in night games and 8-3 in Big Ten night games away from Ohio Stadium. Tressel’s teams are 2-3 at home in night games.

Are you F***in kidding me? I wasn't opposed to the idea of a Thursday night game but now we didn't even make ESPN? Wow.

Don't get me wrong I don't mind the BTN's coverage but wasn't the whole point of this (aside from the extra 2 days) to be front and center with a national audience?

I know this is kind of off-topic, but since it was part of the press release, does anyone know who decides whether the games are scheduled at night or not? I find it odd that OSU consistently has to play its in-conference road games at night, and yet a marquee game like vs. Miami in Columbus is scheduled for 3:30.
