Game Thread Marshall at tOSU, Sat. Sep. 21, 12pm ET, FOX

I think Knowles was intentionally vanilla today. And Tyliek Williams is a big difference maker and disruptor on the inside. Not an impressive performance but not terrible either.
I forget what I was quoting in that post but I think it was regarding we still are having issues getting a rush.

Yeah the rush is fine… it’s just not getting home as much as you’d think when we bring straight 4 man rush.

Seems like we have a few times every game where we struggle to get off blocks and/or stay sound gap wise.

I really like the way Hamilton has played and Sawyer is always so close. Really the person we need to go to another level is JT. If he could step up a bit that’d take us to another level.

I think the defensive line was ok this game. I think the real struggle in the first half was at the S and LB position.

Klatt has gotten crap from our fan base. I know some of it is warranted. However, we can all agree that today OSU's D was not their best.

What he seemed to realize by the 4th quarter, is that OSU's run game is legit, and because of it, he concluded that he doesn't know how future opponents can stop it. My take is between the weapons and scheme, it can impose it's will on anybody.

He also clarified the $20 mill, and that OSU only brought in 7 transfers. That the slam on OSU is fake.

He also was very complimentary about Hartline.

Though I think his take on Scum's cheating scandal are stupid, I also don't think some criticism of OSU was without some merit.

I've always liked Klatt, thought he was pretty damn insightful for a TV guy. He's one of the only talking heads I would ever actually listen to, still enjoy his podcast.

I think the fact that I respected his opinion in the first place is what bothers me about his current position on scUM and the cheating scandal. Would have expected more rationality given his past but ultimately, it's in his best interest as an employee of FOX to down play it.

I don't dislike Klatt, just disappointed as a listener.

Any time they're running that many QB draws and quick passes, I imagine getting a rush will be hard to do.

Marshall Coach Charles Huff: Ohio State is "Really Good", Elite on Both Sides of the Ball and Has "Real NFL Grown Men"

“Offensively, absolutely. And then defensively, they smother you. They kinda just lean on you and weigh you down a little bit. ... Defensively, they kinda just laid on us long enough to wear us down offensively. Offensively, I don't know, 2019 LSU, 2020 Alabama, they're probably in that realm.”

“They're really good. Hats off to them. Coach Day has done a phenomenal job building this program. He was able to retain a lot of players that had opportunities to go other places. Guys came into the program. If they can stay healthy – I don't even think they need to stay healthy even with their fifth guy in – but it was good, they're good. A lot of respect for them.”

“We can't control if the receivers (runs a) 4.3 (40-yard dash) and he breaks two tackles that guys are right there. I mean, there were a couple of times that they were coming at me on the sideline that I was getting out of the way and I don't usually have to move because usually I'm just like 'oh, okay.' But they were like real NFL, grown men coming at a really, really high rate of speed, so I had to get out of the way. So I understand the talent gap.”
