I notice the thread title lists this as Marquette at OSU.

Will they be bringing the carrier up the Scioto or will they truck it down I-70?

If the former can they take out Chillicothe while they are en-route? Never cared much for Chillicothe.

No starting 5 announced, but of course the three returning starters will be in there again. Matta seems closer to settling on a 5 than a 3, as he said he's not 100% on the 5 but seemed to be debating more about the 3 when asked about it. Sam/Q for one spot with Amir/Rav for the other.

Amir might have an edge at the 5 because he has the potential to be much tougher to score over in the post, and Matta prefers to have big men defending who don't need help guarding their man. And they said they want to implement more of a running style, so he may place a premium on shotblocking to help them play the desired tempo and pressure. Starting Amir also may be a sign that Matta has an eye for the future, both in terms of this year as well as the next couple. On the other hand, it appears that Rav is just more effective than Amir in a number of areas at this point, so it's up for grabs still.

As for Sam and Q, I suspect that position is more highly debated as they are more similar with their talents. Sam may be more consistent while Q may have the most room for improvement. Q also may be better to start in order to capitalize on the defensive attention paid to DT.

Matta is a creature of habit, rarely does he change the starting lineup once he sets it. This year may be different since there are a couple positions that are debatable who to start. But I think he will settle into a lineup sooner or later and not tinker with it by the time conference play rolls around. My guess is the starting 5 will be the same as it was in the exhibition, he may just be trying to motivate Q and Amir to get the most out of them since they are the two guys with the most room for improvement among those 4.

Has Matta announced a starting 5? If not, any projections?

I think we will see the starters as...

PG Aaron Craft
SG Lenzelle Smith Jr
SF Sam Thompson
PF Deshaun Thomas
C Evan Ravenal

And the only 3 other regular rotation guys...

Shannon Scott
LaQuinton Ross
Amir Williams

Q and Amir started against Walsh but Sam and the Raven started in the 2nd half..

It's a toss up, but that's what I think the line-up will look like throughout the season..

I also think Lenzelle will be our 2nd leading scorer this season at around 12 PPG with Craft and Ross scoring about 10 PPG...

I'd like to see Amir and Sam pair up, and Q and Evan be the other pair. I think Q and Amir's body types are too similar (tall, skinny, can be pushed around) on defense... they just don't compliament each other like they should on D when they were on the floor against Walsh.

I'd like to see this starting lineup:

PG A.Craft
SG L.Smith
SF S.Thompson
PF D.Thomas
C A.Williams
