Mark Sanchez (6-2, 215, 4.85) from Mission Viejo, Ca, just returned from visiting Ohio State and Notre Dame. The experience hasn't made things any easier. "My dad (Nick) and I spent two days at Notre Dame and two at Ohio State," said Sanchez. "Notre Dame was beautiful and the coaches are great, although I haven't met coach (Bill) Diedrick, their OC and QB coach.

QB Mark Sanchez (6-2, 215, 4.85) from Mission Viejo (Ca) says he now has approx 29 offers, the most recent coming from UTEP and Michigan.

"Notre Dame hasn't offered me yet, but they are hinting about it.

"Notre Dame's campus is smaller and there are a lot less kids than at Ohio State, which is massive. The trip to the campuses made it more confusing for me. They were both great. Each has a lot of tradition. I have no idea which atmosphere is best. They are both gonna be rockin' on game day.

"My five favorites are Ohio State, USC, Notre Dame, Texas and Nebraska. There's no way I could pick a leader now. I have to talk with my dad. They are all recruiting me hard. These trips just make it tougher. I might also visit Texas with my dad before summer's over. I haven't set any official visits yet.

"I'm looking to see how I get along with the QB coach and the offensive coord at each school. I have to really be able to relate and hang-out with these guys. We have to be able to really get along because they are going to have to be critical of me. That's probably the most important factor I'm looking at.

"No schools have told me where I rank among QBs for them. They have told me they like my quick release, that I am the complete package and that I'm big, tall, strong and have shown I can be a leader."

Am I the only one who thinks there is a striking resemblance between Sanchez and The Night Stalker, Richard Ramirez?

According to the latest Rivals update Sanchez likes Texas and hopes to visit Austin at some point this summer but he may not have the time.

I definitely agree with the earlier post that OSU's quarterback doing well this year, will help not hinder the recruitment of Mark Sanchez. We do have a very unfortunate image at OSU which dates back even before Tressel. The '3 yards and cloud of smoke' theory did nothing for OSU's quarterback recruiting over the years. Truth is, nobody really knows what Tressel's offense is made of. Now he has his OL and his QB in place we (and recruits) can probably better evaluate his offense. We know it will be conservative. However, conservative doesn't necessarily mean stagnant or non-productive. I subscribe to the theory that top notch QB's should care less about who is in front of them on a depth chart. If Sanchez is this way then he could care less about how Zwick plays, except to look at his performance and say 'yea, I could fit nicely into there scheme'. Hope it plays out for the best for the Bucks. Blue Chip QB's have a way of making a class look even better.
