Mark Sanchez (Philadelphia Eagles)

rivals premium

a few new tidbits

he met with USC on Tuesday but Chow was not there- he will meet with him separately tomorrow- IMO if Chow would commit to staying at USC it would improve USC's chances and make them pretty tough to beat (Note- that is my opinion not what is written in the article)

He says tOSU's strong points are Coach Tress and the unique way of play calling he has with Daniels and Bollman (or in other words a three person collaborative approach)

Non-Sanchez stuff has been stripped from this thread and moved here;
http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2961

It was a pain in the ass, and not something I want to do often. Let's keep recruiting tight and on topic. You'd be amazed how many recruits end up on their own threads here. If you want to see why, go to Google and type in any of their names and maybe their position. Don't even type OSU or Buckeyes. 9 times out of 10, we're one of the top links. So we need to remember that what we're saying in here, and how we're saying it, could well be something the recruit we're talking about reads. Not that anything bad was said in here at all, but I don't know that he cares about timeouts, or some poser from BNuts pretending to be him.

C-Dog ain't kiddin'. I just went to Google and did a search on "Mark Sanchez QB", and this very thread was the #2 link on the entire web (the #1 link was the TheInsiders' prospect page on him). So we definitely need to exercise some caution here...

I hope you are not implying that if he does not sign with us, then this recruiting class is down the drain...or that OSU will not win the big games if he not our QB. What exactly are you saying when you phrased "bring it all together"?
Not implying that at all. I simply mean that getting a commitment from the Top QB prospect in the nation, especially this early in the process could bring this class together. This could really cause a snowball effect for the rest of this year's recruiting. I would have to say that if you think that other recruits don't take notice when a prospect such as Sanchez commits to a school, then you are wrong. This could potentially be huge for this class, well beyond just getting a potentially great QB.

Chow ?

In the 30+ page Mission Viejo Thread on BN recruiting board, a poster named USCGuru gave the indication that Chow's future was uncertain:
PAGE 30 (USCGuru)
Anyone know why
he even feels like he has to committ so "early"--i mean he has until next Feb right?

I think if you guys land kevin, then Mark is pretty much guaranteed to OSU...kinda like a la Colvin last year--however, teammates dont always follow each other--in 2002, Poly HS out here in Cali produced the "Poly 4" where Dennis, Justice, and Bing all decided to go to SC..however, Marcedes Lewis (also highly touted) went the other way and decided to go to UCLA, so you never know

Texas has only ONE thing going for it--beautiful campus, world-class facilites, and great, um, student body...(wait, thats 3 things...)he grew up a USC fan and it seems that his dad (at least initially) was a heavy USC lean)--going to SC lets his parents and friends come and watch his games, which is always a big plus

if i were a betting man though, id say he goes to OSU--seems like he was really impressed with his trip...i think the trip to USC was just so he was sure he wasnt making a mistake--Norm not being able to promise he was gonna stay was huge IMHO

good luck next season

FIGHT ON!!!
Does anyone know where this was mentioned, or have a link to the article?

Thanks.

It was an interview with Mark's father - he basically said that all the schools which Mark is considering are quality choices, Mark hasn't decided yet, etc.

One interesting note - Mark's brothers went to college at Yale and Depauw (in Indiana), both pretty far away from L.A. Maybe distance won't be a factor for Mark, either.

Not that it means anything, but I have never heard of USCguru.

I am stunned by the magnitude and the attraction the MV3 (that's what they call it on BN) thread is receiving on bucknuts. 33 pages with more than 54,128 views, and counting. That is extraordinary, especially if you think that this topic is receiving moderate attention on all USC boards.

As LordJeff has noted, the fact that Mark's brothers travelled across country to attend college would seem that distance is not an issue with this family.

On the other hand, the fact that Mission Viejo is only less than a hour from the USC campus and the Sanchez family has scheduled different visits there to meet with coaches, academic advisors and also visited the Business School would seem that we have a real good shot at this QB.

Another issue seems to be his friendship with Bemoll and Williams, which is obviously important, but we should also remember that the balance of his friends will still live in MV, after all.

The poster, rdsbucks, seems to know what he's talking about and he gives the distinct impression that MS is headed to Columbus. Or so he thinks.

Also of note. USC does not have a commit yet, other than a kicker.
