Mark Sanchez (Philadelphia Eagles)

It sounds like he enjoyed his Texas visit, but to me it seems like it will wear off quickly. Besides already having a good QB committed, you gotta feel unsure about Mack staying for more than a couple years. Hell, he could be gone after this year if he continues to underperform. Same with Ty. Given that Sanchez wants a stable coaching staff, OSU provides that the most, even moreso than USC. Coach Tressel and Coach Daniels aren't going anywhere. In the end I think this is an OSU-USC battle, and I think Bemoll will play a big part in the outcome. It's a lot easier to pull the trigger for the Bucks when two of your teammates are headed East.

Two team race for Sanchez?

There haven't been too many recruiting surprises thus far but we could be on the verge of a major one later in the week. Mission Viejo (Calif.) quarterback Mark Sanchez had USC as an early leader but the Trojans find themselves looking up at a pair of out of state powers at the moment.
OSU and Texas are the two out of state teams. What's happening later in the week?

He's visiting USC one more time later this week. Ohio State was his leader but his Texas visit blew him away(his words). It may be down to Texas and Ohio State, depending on how the USC visit goes. He thinks he can play early at Ohio State or Texas. The fact Texas already has a big time QB commit should help us.

"I got that special feeling at Ohio State..."
Let's hope that it lasts for a few more days....

Texas has a commitment from Colt McCoy (a Lemming top 10 QB), and is one of six finalists in the Ryan Perrilloux sweepstakes. I've to think that OSU has the major advantage in the "early playing time" category. Of course, that's not the only factor involved....

the lifestyle around Austin is going to be tough for the Buckeyes to overcome......most especially a kid from southern california.....
not trying to be a naysayer here...but i'd consider it a major surprise if he opts to come to cbus.....

I agree, Di.

While we're throwing out Sanchez quotes...

The facilities they(Texas) have are like nothing I've ever seen before and I really clicked with their offensive coordinator, Greg Davis.

I would be pleasantly surprised if Sanchez comes here. I suppose Williams and Bemoll can help our cause but I don't feel good about it.

Let's see how the thrill of his Texas visit fades in the next few days. I'm thinking the excitement will start to wear off, and he'll focus more on the nice QB they already have committed, plus the fact that Mack may not be around much longer if he can't compete for a MNC past mid-October.

Any coincidence that he may have a decision right after Bemoll visits OSU on the 9th and 10th? My gut says it's not just a coincidence. If we blow away Bemoll on his visit, it might just be enough to sway the MV trio to Cbus.

If Texas is our only competition, I feel very good. You never know what SC will tell him this week though.

If Sanchez pick us, after all the horrible things I'm sure he'll hear and has heard about our offense from the coaches at USC and Texas, I'll be very impressed. Petey and Mack Brown will be tough to beat.

The timing of his impending decision coupled with Bemoll's scheduled visit is an interesting point.

If there is a reason to negative recruit Texas this would be it! If Mack Brown doesn't win the Big 12 this year then he is out...yeah I said it! Sanchez told the rivals ticker that it is down to us Texas and possible USC but that they aren't the best "fit".

How long is Texas going to keep Mack Brown around if he keeps getting beaten in the Red River Shootout? I mean, he doesn't just lose those games. They are not even competitive in those games (65-13, 35-24, 14-3, 63-14). They did win in '99 38-28. I don't see Mack Brown surviving another loss to OU.

Couple the coaching instability with the fact that they already have a verbal from McCoy and are fishing for one from Perriloux, it's obvious that Sanchez is not the number one priority for Mack Brown and the Longhorns.

Ty Willingham won't be around much longer. Ty won 5 games last year. They aren't going to put up with that in South Bend. ND has a pretty tough schedule this season, and I don't see them getting by USC, Purdue, Michigan, and Tennessee. In fact, Ty will have a pretty tough coaching job if that opener against Michigan gets out of hand.

I don't know what to say about USC other than how many young quarterbacks are they going to put on the roster? I'm sure that Mark is the number 1 priority for USC :smash: I'm sure all of these coaches are going to bad mouth the offense to Mark. I hope he just does his homework and follows his heart. Then I hope he follows his friends (?)
