Mark Richt (ex- UGA & Miami Fla Head Coach)

I think the general point here is that if this celebration is the worst thing you can come up with, then your well is pretty dry.

I wasn't aware I had to validate my dislike for anyone to anyone. I don't care for him because he ordered his whole team onto the field. I find it disgusting and bush league. Then, I especially can't stand the fuckhead because in interviews, he acts like it was all a big misunderstanding. Fuck the lying prick.

Like folks were totally oblivious to autism until Der Graf Weis brought it to world attention...
I read your earlier post, and what exactly is so wrong with trying to call attention to autism? Especially when his kid has it, any father worth his salt would be trying to do the same thing.

What difference does it make how aware people were of autism?

Don't let the facts get in the way of your argument.

However, Richt did intend to get a celebration penalty on that play.

If JT had done the same against scUM, I wonder what people on here would think.
Heck, Woody was telling his players to follow him over to the MSU lockerroom to kick some Spartan butt after we got hosed in '74. I certainly don't think that makes him a bad person - it just makes him Woody. A GREAT man who had flaws and made mistakes (e.g. Gator Bowl incident).

Personally, right after Tressel, Richt is the guy I would want my kid to play for.

I'm not quite sure what hole you are trying to poke in my statement. What I said was in response to the original comment that JT and Richt are on equal footing as far as class and character are concerned.

Was the penalty he told his players to get after the TD the worst thing in the world? Of course not. I actually laughed pretty hard as I watched it happen, especially when they showed the replay of #77 doing that dance. But I also remember thinking, "That is something Jim Tressel would never tell his players to do in a million years." And if hell froze over and for some reason he would tell them to do something like that, he surely wouldn't stand in front of the cameras afterwards and come up with some bullshit lie that a even 5 year old wouldn't believe. That's where your "if JT had done the same against Michigan" example becomes irrelevant. It would never happen.

That alone sets the two apart in class and character. That was all I was trying to say. People can go on and on with the debate about who kisses more babies and who visits more orphanages, but what happened on the field that day, albeit minor in the grand scheme of things, was enough to make me see that the two are not on the same level. That's all I was saying.

Let's shelve the good will angle for Charlie Weis and the medical community, he is loathed in South Bend. Most docs won't dare to touch his knee situation after his lawsuit following a previous surgery (when a known and warned complication popped up).

This isn't the NFL, he's not a tactician for a bunch of mercenaries who can be cut/fired if they don't produce. It's not a coincidence that he has turned off so many alumni, former players, coaching colleagues and many others.

with exception to one person, I don't think anyone has gotten on the Charlie Weiss Humanitarian of the Year Award.

That dude should just google "Charlie Weiss and Ray Reitz".

I'm lukewarm on Richt....things didn't end so well for him in Tally, as he supposedly focused on getting the Georgia job way more than focusing on the National Championship against Oklahoma. I don't think people had a problem with him pursuing the Georgia position and making all of the circles, as much as him telling everyone his focus was on the game and he'd make sure FSU was well prepared....not so much.

The other thing that gets under my skin a bit, is his open devotion to religion and Christianity, and then watching him chew out officials with f-bombs and cursing. That dude gets heated on the sideline. Cursing doesn't bother me at all, as I'm not very religious, but I guess it does if said person is supposed to be religion first and he flaunts it but then displays otherwise on the sideline. Well Coach K bothers me a bit too, but mostly b/c he bullies officials into calls but thats another story....

I don't think I've ever seen Tressel curse on the sideline, and I'd be pretty surprised if I saw it.

I think he dropped an f-bomb, as in "f*&% yeah!" when the team blocked a FG or something like that against Washington last year. That's it, though.
Rich is a good guy, but I don't really like coaches who are outfront with their Bible thumping like Richt or McCartney. I respect Tressel or Tony Dungy a lot more w/ their approach.

No, no, no, no......Richt curses frequently on the sidelines. I'm not saying the next game you watch, you'll definitely see him drop an F-Bomb. But he has certainly dropped more than an F-Yeah in the games I've seen....BY A LONG SHOT.

He regularly drops [censored] on bad plays and missed calls.....Again, he might not be Coach K handing an official his balls, but he isn'y getting in officials ears with "gee shucks, and by golly" either.

And he probably is a good guy, I just apprceiate that tressel walks and talks it, literally......at least as far I have seen.

I was talking about Tressel cursing against Washington last year-everyone was really surprised.
I'm usually too busy watching Georgia's D get shredded if I am watching them to pay attention Richt.

ohhh...well in that case, Tressel didn't drop an F-Yeah.....he got emotional but didn't drop an F-Bomb, not clearly anyways b/c I definately think I would have noticed and I remeber him jumping around like it was 4th quarter at Wisconson after that block. Richt clearly does and has though....

So Tress is a good person because he doesn't swear in the heat of the moment, and Richt is a bad person because he does.

Let me direct you to a place you'll feel more comfortable with, this board can get out of hand with the expletives.

Maybe you missed my post that he is probably a good person. Maybe you also missed that I am not religious. I could care less if people curse.

I clearly stated I have no problem with swearing. I have a problem with people who endorse their faith and try and show their faith but then drop bombs on the sideline. Something about that pisses me off.

If you're that Christian, don't curse officials and players out.

Tressel endorses Christianity but he hasn't gone Coach K/Bobby Knight on an official that I can recall.

Again, I'm sure Richt is a good guy overall....and I'm not saying he doesn't believe in his faith b/c he curses on the sideline. It just doesn't sit well with me when people act like that. But that's me.....
