Mark and Ollie (Living With the Machigenga)

BUCKYLE

One More...Then Forever
  • New show on the Travel Channel. Looks promising.

Two explorers go live with some tribe in the jungle.

Caught the first episode tonight, pretty fuckin' sweet.

The tribal leaders were concerned that since the guys didn't bring their wives, they would "turn gay".

One of the tribal warriors takes them aside and offers his nieces to prevent this. He also tells them if they are caught "doing stuff" with each other, he'll shove hot chilli peppers up their asses. :slappy:

Sure you weren't watching my Cancun 2004 spring break videos? This sounds oddly familiar.

Did anybody see the 3 oz. maggots they ate? Made the raw frog testicles look appetizing.

    Yes. Disgusting.

They said that to be welcomed and respected you had to eat whatever was put in front of you. The "beer" that was made with the spit of the entire village looked fucking gross too.

The part where they went to the shaman and he gave them the black whatever stuff...

Dude was puking and tripping his balls off.

    Living with the Mek

M & O, I saw your segment on Public TV for the first time. I was quite disturbed by what I saw. The two of you are doing an awesome work. What bothered me is what people like ME are doing. I am a missionary. I was appalled at the lack of teaching the Missionaries had left this tribe with. I feel it is vital that we teach the good but leave culture intact. It would appear this tribe (the Mek) were simply more confused and left with additional superstition.

I pray MORE people like you will study these cultures and teach US how to respect them.

Thank you for what you are doing.

Roni, I read your post on an Ohio State football website for the first time. You are not doing an awesome work. It also bothers me what people like YOU are doing. I am appalled at the lack of reading you've done on this board before you made that post. I am simply more confused, myself, and left with additional superstition about newbs.

I pray that you dont' think BUCKLYE and 'BusNative live with the Machigenga.

But, I do thank them for whatever it is that they are doing.

Thanks. It's posts like these that make me and 'Bus keep doing what we're doing.

    But seriously...

You drank the black shit that makes you trip balls...didn't you?

The truth about a roni, shes a sweet old girl
About the sweetest little girl in the whole wide world.
Shed make the toughest homeboy fall deep in love-
Said once youve had a roni, you would never give her up
Shes a special kind of girl that makes her daddy feel proud.
You know, the kind of girl that stands out in crowds.
Found a tender roni and the roni is so right.
I think Im gonna love her for the rest of my life.
