If I had the money and fame these kids have I would have blown it all on strippers and drugs for sure. Clearly the big man up top knew that he needed to keep me broke until I was much older and could control myself.
As it was, I am 100% positive my guardian angel earned their wings early and often. From about 14/15 until 24ish I was pretty much trying to kill myself with some of the dumbest decisions a young man could make. Between cars and fireworks and power tools and beer and explosives and guns and even pulling a stump. Somehow my buddies and I would do everything in such a fashion that life and limb were put to the test. So so so dumb.
Anyway, I rather enjoy watching these kids and the recruiting chaos as I am 100% positive I would be just like them all. I am sure for me the place with the hottest chicks would have been my choice. Or the last place I visited. I was not a thinker or a planner back then. And I had solid parents and yet I tried my best go against any good advice I received back then.

I consider it a miracle that any male child lives long enough to mate. Oh, and my sister's 1957 Triumph TR-3 hit the peg at 110 MPH on US 35 between Dayton and Xenia sometime in October of 1959. She and my parent's were out of town and I was able to start the TR using a ball of aluminum foil held against the back of the ignition assembly behind the dashboard.

Alright I looked up a number of Gumbo recipes on line. What I learned through my reading is that’s Creole gumbo typically calls for tomatoes where Cajun gumbo does not.

I also found this Ten Commandments of Gumbo..
