my take is that it means pretty much nothing and I don't ever pay any attention to that type of stuff.

ESPN analytics are all written to prop up SEC teams, so I'm sure there are plenty of race conditions in their code when they're comparing two SEC teams. Beyond that, they're pretty much meaningless in any meaningful way one would apply "analytics" in the real world.
