LSU Tigers (official thread)

I don't think Nuss is a "bad" quarterback.
He just isn't elite. at least not yet.

He's completing less than 54% of his passes in SEC play
Through 4 conference games, he has already thrown 6 interceptions (plus 1 that was called back due to a penalty)

compare that to the last decade of LSU QBs
Anthony Jennings threw 4 in 12 SEC games
Brandon Harris threw 7 in 12 SEC games
Danny Etling threw 3 in 16 SEC games
Joe Burrow threw 7 in 17 SEC games
Max Johnson threw 5 in 14 SEC Games
Jayden Daniels threw 6 in 17 SEC Games

Wasn't directed at you, but at the retards who are saying Nuss sucks because he had a tough outing.

I didn't take it as directed at me.
my reply was also aimed at those same group of retards that thinks he was the best QB in the SEC prior to the 2nd half against A&M.

he's a young gunslinger that has too much of (the bad) Brett Favre in him.
he hasn't learned how to take what the defense gives him yet.
he throws deep instead of some of the underneath stuff. So his Completion % sucks.
he pretty much never runs even when he can gain a mile and a half by tucking.
and he truly thinks he can throw it anywhere he wants to at any time.

Most of his picks actually haven't been terrible reads.
Just him thinking he can physically make a pass that he can't.
the first one against A&M was a prime example. He had a huge gain if that ball travels about 4 yards further than it did.
on the run to your non-throwing side, against your forward momentum. Maybe a handful of people ever can actually make that throw.
And he truly believes he's one of those handful.

Once he learns that the cannon attached to his right shoulder actually has limits, he'll be a lot better as a QB.

-Garrett Dellinger has a high ankle sprain. Hoping this week becomes a recovery week for him

-LSU would love to run screens, they just aren't good at it. Hinted that LSU's linemen aren't quick or mobile enough to be super effective at it

-LSU uses flare plays more often as the receivers can block and the linemen aren't involved. They use this as an extension of the outside run game

-Got to finish in this league, they've been on the other side against South Carolina and Ole Piss (starting bad, finishing strong)

-Had a scrimmage for the young guys today to get them work

-Got the kicking unit work today, they normally wouldn't but those guys weren't in sync at all

-The majority of defensive practice reps went to preparation for Weigman however they always work on defending quarterback run plays. A&M didn't run anything exotic, LSU just didn't execute

-Run game struggles weren't due to Dellinger going down, there were a lot of times when they lost individual battles and ran into loaded boxes

-Mentioned making the wrong decisions and running into bad looks twice

-Said Nussmeier's struggles are all part of the learning curve for a new quarterback, and Nuss understands that because he saw Daniels go through it and his dad is a quarterback coach

-Said the quarterback gets too much of the credit and too much of the blame, he isn't concerned about Nuss' confidence going forward

straight copy and paste from another site.
cary to give any of your amazing insights?
or do you prefer to just parrot other half-cocked bullshit talking points?
It was someone summary of Kelly’s presser not talking points.

Saw it after I posted the video and figured to add cliff notes for our buckeye friends who may not be interested in hearing BK talk for 20 min

we've had a history of horrendous QB play, no doubt.
but the last decade has been between pretty solid for the most part.
TJ Finley fiasco for a few games in 2020 being the outlier.

Danny Etling and Max Johnson were both pretty efficient QBs. just neither of them were stars that were going to carry a team.
Burrow and Daniels both won Heismans.

and the dude who replied to that tweet must have never watched Jordan Jefferson play.
