LSU Tigers (official thread)

Well, the guy isn't at X-Ray Randy, "We've got a linebacker who can cover Ted Ginn" level. And my understanding of 2021 Georgia is based on their game with Clemson - which was a two-way shit show. And his image of the Buckeyes could be based on Penn State which left much to be deservedly criticized.

So in a highly probable CFP match-up, who wins? At Lucas Oil, southerners asked to spend some cash for travel, housing, food, warm clothes. An hour and a half bus ride from Columbus. Ryan Day's offense vs Georgia's defense. I think the Bucks have more than a puncher's chance at winning it all.

As for the future, unless a certain coach in Tuscaloosa is tired of coaching, recruitin' and winning, I think the SEC's other fans would do well to moderate their expectations.

I do think that tOSU has the best chance of beating UGA in a game this year out of any team this year. The game being at Lucas Oil shouldn't affect UGA too much since it's an indoor stadium, if I'm not mistaken, so January in Indianapolis will not be a factor.

I would think that tOSU could win if they score on a lot of big plays, particularly deep or semi-deep throws from Stroud to your elite WR group to run it in for TDs. I base this on the assumption that the tOSU offense struggles in the RZ to score TDs (obviously they have the potential to improve, but basing on what I've seen thus far).

From what I've seen in bits and pieces of tOSU's games vs Oregon, Pedo st, and Nebraska, the Buckeyes seem to have a hard time running the ball in the RZ, thus their RZ TD conversion rate is somewhat low, despite having talent at RB and WR. Maybe it's an OL issue? Not sure totally, but from what I've seen it seems that the OL hadn't created enough room for Henderson to run through in a few 4th and short attempts vs Penn state. Then vs Nebraska, there were some strange screen pass calls that got shut down by Nebraska's defense in the red zone. Again, I've only watched bits and pieces of those games, so this assumption is based on a very small sample size, and I'm sure there's more to the story.

The point being, is I'd lean towards UGA winning (likely a bit biased) because I think they'd win the battles at the LOS on both offense and defense (I do think tOSU's defense improved a lot since the Oregon game, but a Run D performance similar to that would spell trouble).

Lincoln Riley LSU Flight Rumor Debunked by Oklahoma Analyst

LSU football may be the top coaching opening in the sport as Ed Orgeron is set to depart at the end of the 2021 season. On Wednesday, fans began tracking a plane coming from Oklahoma, which led some to think Lincoln Riley was heading to Baton Rouge for an interview.

When the coaching carousel starts spinning, fans begin checking in on various flight tracking websites and apps to try and glean clues as to the coaches that are coming to town for interviews.

LSU fans thought they hit the jackpot. Riley has fielded one of the best offenses in college football at OU, since joining Bob Stoops's staff in 2015. If LSU is to replicate the '19 Joe Burrow–led season, there would be fewer coaches better situated to do it. At the same time, he already has one of the top jobs in the sport, a dynamic freshman quarterback in Caleb Williams and his program will be joining the SEC in a few years.

That did not stop some from speculating that Riley could be on a plane that departed Norman, Okla. for Baton Rouge just before 9 a.m. CT on Wednesday.

The rumor was debunked hours later.

Gabe Ikard, a former Oklahoma offensive lineman turned local Sooners media personality, sent a tongue-in-cheek tweet indicating that Riley was at Oklahoma practice at the same time as that flight from Norman to Baton Rouge.

Riley is 54–8 since taking over the Sooners in 2017, with four straight Big 12 titles and three College Football Playoff appearances.

The LSU job would be attractive to just about any coach, but it may be very difficult to pry him away from Oklahoma.

I wouldn't mind LincoLn "0-1 vs Kirby" riLey at LLLLL5U.
