LSU Tigers (official thread)

I was listening the Bomani Jones podcast earlier, and Coach O was definitely a WILD BOY! Pulling up to a gas station, sees an attractive woman with workout clothes, asks her if she wants to “work out” with him. She tells him she’s married AND pregnant… He says, SO! :yow2:
It ended up being the wife of a prominent LSU official…

They gave a man who was already unhinged, millions of dollars after that NC. And he promptly got divorced and thought he was in college again and lost his damn mind, and had the craziest mid life crisis’ out.

The echo in here has a longer delay than usual

Yeah, the hardest replaceable piece was Joe Burrow.
I think a lot of people underestimate how much Joe Brady meant as well...

Joe Burrow 2018 (pre-Brady)
57.8%, 2894 yds, 7.6 ypa, 16 td, 5 int, 133.2 qbr

Joe Burrow 2019 (Brady as PGC)
76.3%, 5671 yds, 10.8 ypa, 60 td, 6 int, 202.0 qbr

Burrow was undoubtedly a very good qb, but he doesn't have the best single season for a QB in CFB history and become the #1 overall pick without Joe Brady. He was a middling QB in 2018 and became superhuman. Sure, his 2018 "meh" season may have been playing in the dinosaur offense they were running, but that improvement is unreal.

My best friend is a teacher at Moeller and goes to the same parish as the Fickell’s as well as occasionally hangs out with them. I’ll check in but from what I understand about them already and the culture at LSU, it would be a hard pass. He told me multiple times how good and genuine people they are how much they enjoy being in Cincinnati. Might be a week or two but I’ll report back.

I’m sure UC going to the Big 12 will go a long way in keeping him. Since they’d finally be in a P5 conference.

don’t forget he also transferred in after spring was over so was a bit behind that first year.

I’ll save you the suspense. OSU and Notre Dame. That’s the list. Those are the places he’d leave UC for.

Inside the unraveling of Ed Orgeron's LSU tenure in just 21 months

i

Entire article: https://www.espn.com/college-footba...raveling-ed-orgeron-lsu-tenure-just-21-months

LSU owes Orgeron a $16.9 million buyout to be paid in 18 installments through Dec. 2025. The separation agreement includes a provision preventing Orgeron from taking another SEC head-coaching job for 18 months.

Two points:

1) As bad of coach that he was (on and off the field), I'd think LSU would welcome him taking another SEC head coaching job.....

2) What other SEC school would actually want him?

I believe that your numbers for Burrow at the end of each line are his ‘passing efficiency rating’, using the college formula. The other abbreviation is for a stat that’s been concocted by ESPN, and they have their own fudge factors in there, and I’ve never seen the formula for it released. Personally I refuse to talk about the ESPN stat, since I think it’s agenda driven, but it’s confusing to use that abbreviation for the NCAA college passing efficiency rating.

and I’ve never seen the formula for it released.

I looked for it years ago. I'm pretty sure you're right - It's based on how much ESPN likes that guy. There's probably a good reason for not releasing the formula, but I don't care enough to really think about it.

Here's something I found for the formula. It doesn't give it away, but it explains it a little. I chose not to read it all.
