In he SEC, we don't have cheating, like in your conference. We don't have that in our conference. In the SEC, we do not have this phenomenon. I don't know who's told you that we have it.

Couple of thoughts

1-I don't think the ref moved the ball.

2-This is an indictment of the SEC refs more than LSU,IMO. I coach in a HS league considered one of, if not the most powerful/respectable/honorable in the state. That said, kids-ours and other teams- pinch, punch, claw, grab nuts, and do all kinds of things that the refs don't see. The staff deals w/ it if we see something blatant that gets a 15 yard flag, but a lot of stuff just goes w/ the kids and there is not a lot you can do about it.

Les Miles is without a doubt a scumbag. I understand why most UM fans don't want him, I wouldn't either.

Wow, I never understood why scUM fans weren't interested in this guy, he seems to be a winner but after seeing this, I am just shocked, this is in a word "disgusting." I realize this is one game, but still, if these are the actions that take place against an unranked team, what are they doing against a ranked one?

Maybe some of us need to go back and rewatch the NW game of just two weeks ago. We ripped the helmets nearly/completely off of NW ball carriers no less than three times and were flagged only once. By the way, the time we did get flagged was when Abdalluh sacked the QB and celebrated afterwards (sound familiar?). As for the PI non-call in the end zone (supposedly grabbing the WR's arms), the WR didn't gripe in the slightest so it must not have been much if an interference. The only intentional act of trying to cause harm was the spearing. Also remember Robert Reynolds?...

I've seen that vid before. As much as I'd love to bash LSU and SEC football, that video doesn't prove much. I saw a couple uncalled for hits and the rest was just penalties and a couple mistakes by the refs. You could make the same video with most teams in the country. I've even seen our own boys take a cheapshot once in a while(Curtis Terry in the NC game comes to mind). It's just that a pissed off Gamecock fan actually went to the trouble of doing it.

You have to be kidding me. The facemasks that were during the NW games were nothing compared to the ones in this video!

Look at the jerking back of the head and the bodies having to fly backwards because of it. I'm more than shocked that there were no injuries in those two incidents.

first, the facemasks weren't nearly alike. did you see an ohio state player use the facemask to pull the player down another four feet or so? no, you didn't. second, did you see nader push a guys helmet down to the ground as he went by celebrating? no, you didn't. celebrating a sack is nothing like pushing the player down by the helmet as you run over him (after the play is over). three, i already brought up reynolds.

thanks for playing.

his question is valid in that it is always important to be mindful of your own actions. while i think most would agree our actions on the field are nothing like that found in the video. we should still continue to be very vigilant as to what we are doing and why to ensure they never do compair.

i pesronally have seen several things that i don't think live up to the standards i personally have for the team. beanie high stepping into the endzone and homan's face mask on locker after the play was over for example. like i said, they don't compair. but that doesn't mean they warrant no attention either.

While we're on the subject of LSU Football 101, don't forget ... LSU IS NOT THE #1 team in the country. That AP poll thingy doesn't mean shit.

SI.com - Writers - College Football Mailbag (cont.) - Wednesday October 3, 2007 1:42PM

How do you think LSU fans feel about being No. 1 in the AP poll this week. Do you think they are telling everyone that "we're not really No. 1," because, as they all said after the 2003 season, the only poll that counts is the coaches poll?
--Chris Baker, Tucson, Ariz.

Good question. I'll find out for myself this weekend when I visit Baton Rouge. Whenever I travel, I'm always sensitive about not doing anything that might offend the locals. So, even though LSU has been No. 1 on my ballot the past two weeks, and even though I'll be referring to "No. 1 LSU" in everything I write this weekend (because SI.com, like most publications, uses the AP poll as its default ranking), I will be extra careful to acknowledge USC's true status as the nation's No. 1 team if the topic happens to come up in conversation. Because if I don't, I'm certain any LSU fan in his right mind will be quick to remind me that the Trojans are currently ranked as such by the two polls (coaches and Harris) used by the BCS -- the only system agreed upon by all participants beforehand.

Awesome! Greenies to Mandel.

Along the lines of what Milli said, we have had some questionable things going on this season. Look up OSU vs Washington on youtube and someone has posted a few blocks in the back and one blatantly bad facemask on Locker. The big difference IMO is that our issues are not systemic, LSU's are.

I'm not in any way shape or form trying to say that our defense plays dirty, I'm just saying that many non-OSU fans after seeing some of this may.

Also, that coach ranking site that osu buckguy linked in the beginning of the thread is pretty sweet. Run a comparison of Les Miles and Jim Tressel. Its shocking! I don't know why any kid would choose not to play for JT after seeing his rankings.
