This may sound counterintuitive, but I'm not exactly sure we shouldn't be rooting for LSU.

We don't want Stanford to end up in that #4 slot where they eat up an automatic BCS berth.

not sure how you keep the #6 team in the country from not going to a BCS game....

Even if Stanford does end up there...

1. Oregon - MNC game

2. Auburn - MNC game

3. TCU - Rose

4. Stanford/Wisconsin - Sugar/Rose

5. wisconsin/Stanford - Rose/Sugar

6. Ohio State - Orange/Sugar

ACC - Orange - ACC is anchored to the orange

Big East - Fiesta - Big Least champ goes to the Fiesta since they have last pick....

Big XII - Fiesta/Orange/Sugar - edited since I think the Big XII champion is anchored to the Fiesta I think.....

and the ACC, Big East and Big XII champions are the only automatics after that......

With Stanford almost certainly going to the Sugar or Orange, the other bowl game will want Ohio State for ratings/ticket sales and that doesn't even factor in the Fiesta, which picks last. Ohio State is almost assured a BCS bowl at this point.

What LSU losing means is that the SEC might not get 2 BCS bids this year if you can imagine that.....

I'm not worried in the least about a BCS spot. I don't think there's any possible scenario where the Buckeyes are in the Capital One Bowl instead of the BCS. Meanwhile, the best shot at upgrading to a Rose Bowl spot would be for LSU and Stanford (and to a lesser extent Oklahoma State) to lose.
