if you blame this game on that last minute, you've got issues.

our offense has sucked ass every since Crowton finished implementing "his" system. BYU and Oregon fans warned us this would happen, and were right.

and we just lost our third different RB to a season ending injury.

is it too much to ask for just 1 QB that has a head on his shoulders?
Lee has no clue what team he plays for, and can't recognize quadruple coverage.
Jefferson takes too many sacks, then just stares at the sideline as the clock ticks to zero.

3rd and long is no problem against John Chavis. Tennessee fans warned us about that, and were right.

Jefferson is not the issue here. By the way, Jefferson was pointing to the clock and getting the players off the field and Miles told him to stay in and spike it. Miles had no awareness of the situation.

And yes, LSU's expectations have increased quite a bit than decades gone past after Saban re-built this program, built top notch facilities and won a NC that finally helped us keep Louisiana's top recruits at LSU. Miles came in and also did well recruiting and expanded into Texas and Florida. I have no issues with Miles' recruiting, he has done extremely well and has only really let one big Louisiana recruit get away (McKnight).

But when it comes to actually coaching football, Miles just doesn't have it. We were EXTREMELY fortunate just to get to the National Championship under him. We had warriors like Hester and Dorsey. But the past two years have been infuriating. This year with better coaching we would have had a much better chance against Florida and Bama.

This Ole Miss game though is just a completely inexcusable coaching performance. I don't care if LSU wasn't all that before this decade. We have top recruits now and the expectations are big every year, and maybe you are happy with settling for mediocrity but most LSU fans are not anymore. And it's quite obvious that a coaching change is needed going forward if we want to hang with Florida and Bama. Otherwise we could easily turn into an Arkansas type team, competing for mid-level bowl games instead of competing for National Championships.

we hung with both of them this year.

Do I think Miles is the best coach out there? no, I don't
Do I think he should be run off? probably not a good idea.

geaux ahead, fire a guy that's 9-3, has a NC, and an SEC championship.

then sit there and wonder why no coaches are answering your phone calls. why no one is interested in the job.

wonder why we're settling for the 12th guy on our list.

NOBODY is going to want the LSU job if Miles' accomplishments will get you fired. NOBODY!

Remember Cholly Mac? run off in '79 because he couldn't beat the Bear? 2 decades later we found a coach worth a damn.

Remember Gene Stallings at Bama? wasn't winning enough after the '92 title, "resigned" after a 10 win season in '96. only got 1 SEC title in the 15 years since.

How about Frank Solich fired after a 9 win season at Nebraska. They haven't been a household name since.

I thought my neighbor was gonna stroke out - he was out in the front of his house screaming obscenities while his wife tried to tell him it was "only a game..." :slappy:

Man, it brings all of those Zooker years back like it was yesterday. :shake:

same thing my wife told me when I sent our computer chair out the front door and through the porch railing.

Feel for you nutri. I think you nailed it with the fallout risk from switching coaches, particularly with Bama in full swing right now.

Better version for those that missed it:

Come on now, you're completely underestimating LSU.

Do you really think LSU would struggle to find a new head coach? We have great recruits, we get anyone we want in Louisiana and have solid pipelines to the Houston and Miami area and we have great facilities:

We are not going to have much trouble finding a new head coach. A lot of good coaches will be extremely attracted to this job.

At the very least, Crowton HAS to go.

The hottest coaching candidates heading into this weekend were Jim Harbaugh, Brian Kelly & maybe Paul Johnson. I think all three of those guys are excellent coaches and all three could fail miserably at LSU.

Les leaves a lot to be desired, but it could get a lot worse.

dude, NEBRASKA had trouble finding a coach.
you know that team that hadn't won fewer than 9 games since '68.
the team of the decade for the 90's. one of the true blue bloods of college football.

Alabama! has more national titles than anyone else, more SEC titles than anyone else, had trouble finding a coach.

Michigan, winingest team in college football history, largest stadium in the country, got turned down by a few guys after Carr got shit canned. Had to settle for a guy that's about to land them on probation.

I love LSU, and have my entire life, but we do NOT have the tradition these schools had when they made their mistakes.

Yeah but would you want your head coach completely lying after the game?

I'm not happy about tonight either.
and it pisses me off that he's throwing people under the bus like that.

but you can NOT fire a guy with his record. bad things follow those kind of firings, and I am not looking for a repeat of the 90's
