LSU 23, Ole Miss 25 (final)

Wow, that's pretty revealing stuff... stumbling over his words, shiftiness in his body language, the up and down emotions... not believable at all les.

dude, NEBRASKA had trouble finding a coach.
you know that team that hadn't won fewer than 9 games since '68.
the team of the decade for the 90's. one of the true blue bloods of college football.

Alabama! has more national titles than anyone else, more SEC titles than anyone else, had trouble finding a coach.

Michigan, winingest team in college football history, largest stadium in the country, got turned down by a few guys after Carr got shit canned. Had to settle for a guy that's about to land them on probation.

I love LSU, and have my entire life, but we do NOT have the tradition these schools had when they made their mistakes.
Michigan wasn't just turned down, they were turned down by Schiano who returned to a mediocre Rutgers squad in a barely-BCS worthy conference.

Why not fire Les Miles and hire Rod Marinelli to many teams run out and fire there coach on a whim. Auburn fires Tubberville for Chizic ok fire someone for one bad season and replace them with someone with a 5-19 record. As much as I want BAMA to win it all every year I still want the SEC to be a strong conference

Yeah but would you want your head coach completely lying after the game?

Utterly amazing. About the only way he could have made the situation worse after completely choking away the end of that game was to lie about it and throw his QB under the bus. I didn't think I could be more shocked after watching the end of this game, but congrats to Miles. I won't soon underestimate his ability to screw up again.

Might be the single worst piece of coaching I've ever seen. I'm no LSU fan (hate the SEC in general) but I felt horrible for his team after that game. I can't imagine what those kids will be thinking after hearing of that interview. Wow.

But see the wisdom in not allowing Zook a full three years at Florida despite beating Georgia two of three games and beating FSU at the dedication of Bowden (Zook) Field - it wound up being a great decision for everybody but the Illinini.

And look at Bama. There was all the reason in the world to let Shula have another year or two - but Finebaum and others would not let it go.

Wow, just wow, that was a pitiful job coaching the last minute of that game, and a pitiful effort at deflecting criticism. I wonder if as much is being made of not calling the TO earlier after the 3rd down play, that was almost as bad as calling for the spike with 1 second left.

As to firing Less, I'm torn, you could possibly get another Urban, or Gary Dinardo could quit his B10 network job and take the job again. It could be tough getting a top notch coach to take a chance with what could be viewed as unreasonable expectations of a NC every year, though that is what is expected by some fans at some Universities.

yeah, but if rumors are accurate, Saban contacted Bama expressing an interest in returning to college before Shula was shown the door.
makes the decision easier when a definite upgrade is applying before the job is open.
