OK. I agree with your point. I just know that if we both win the rest of our games this season, we better not be ranked behind them, b/c they play nobody. It would be like us taking scUM, Iowa, Texas, MSU, and Minnesota out of our schedule, replacing them with UC, Army, Kentucky, Ball St., and Arkansas, and then claiming we should be in the NC game after going undefeated. I'm not impressed by teams that go undefeated through a weak schedule/conference. See USC the last 2 seasons.

I agree the pac10 is pretty easy... but you might want to check your stats before claiming USC plays cupcakes. There was some team named Virginia Tech which gave Auburn a decent game in a BCS bowl last year.

You talking about the same Va. Tech team that lost to NC St., who went 5-6 last year? And while we're on the topic, just giving a great team a good game doesn't make you a good team; if your logic were true, UCLA, Oregon St., and Stanford, all of whom gave USC a good game last year, would be considered good teams.

In all seriousness, though, I was talking about this year when I implied that USC plays a weak schedule. Hawaii and Arkansas? Come on. And please don't tell me that you believe the hype regarding Notre Dame. If that team was any good, it wouldn't have lost to a mediocre MSU team in its own backyard.

Uh, didn't Va Tech win the ACC last year? Looked like they were a pretty good team to me when they almost knocked off undefeated Auburn in the Sugar Bowl....but I guess that was all luck.

Arkansas has been good in the past...games are scheduled far enough ahead that it is impossible to tell how good a team will be when you play them.

And they play Notre Dame every year, so that can't be held against them, either.

Well, let's see...they were 9-5 in 2002, and 9-4 in 2003, when they won by 10 at Texas. Does that qualify as a good team, or do you have to be undefeated every year?

Nice miss on Va Tech too.

Nice miss on Va Tech? I think that it would be news to everyone in Southern California and Blacksburg that their teams are playing this year. Although I'm sure you know something they don't. By the way, ask yourself what big games those Arkansas teams won b/c there aren't more than 4 good SEC teams each year. Pounding UK and Miss. St. doesn't make you a good team in my book. Way to recognize that point.

l'ville is all about offense. It sells tickets and is media friendly. If I were starting a football program I'd concentrate on Offense also.

Still, it's like a Hollywood production, it's style over substance!

Uh...they played Virginia Tech LAST YEAR...you were the one that said they "lost to a 5-6 NCST team last year" as if that made them an inferior team, and I followed that by pointing out they won the ACC.

As for Arkansas, I guess a win over Texas at Texas doesn't count as a big win? So you don't think it will be if we win there next year?

Of course they also beat Auburn and LSU in 2002, and Alabama in 2003...but I guess those teams don't qualify as good either.

Whatever.

umm... i don't know what game you watched, but Va Tech BEAT NC State this year... BTW, NC State had the #1 overall defense in the country last year... their O, however, was terrible... anyway. Va Tech played USC VERY TOUGH in the first game of '04, and Auburn had to hold on for dear life in the last game...

you can go on and on about 'SC's schedule, but until someone knocks them off, that point is moot...

which gets us back to Louisville... do you think we could beat them right now? i'm having my doubts... we couldn't stop them every time, and our O can hardly even move the ball against a 100+ ranked Defense... they deserve the ranking, period.
