Loudest Stadiums (split from Claytor thread)

I've never heard anything like Clemson...but I've seen articles saying LSU and Clemson are the loudest recorded. Whether or not that makes them the loudest, I'm not sure. However, I know the 'Shoe should be in the top 5 if I had to guess. I've heard the Swamp is amazingly loud also...

I've heard the same thing. It's the same concept that Seattle uses in their stadium for the Seahawks. The more vertical a stadium is, the harder it is for sound to escape. That is why the pig house is so quiet.........and a smaller stadium like Oregon's can be so rowdy.

my business partner went to the UF v. FSU game this past year in the swamp, and he said the atmosphere is nothing like the shoe (i've taken him to some games...including THE GAME)..not as loud, and pregame atmosphere not nearly as good. and he is definately not a homer, in fact he grew up a scUM fan (HS teammates of Desmond Howard and Elvis Grbc)

.....the cocktail party with UGA might be another story.

OSU isn't loud because it doesn't have a huge rowdy student base. Older fans just aren't as rowdy as big student bases are. OSU's fanbase is older than most. I'd put OSU somewhere between 5-15 with an exception to a texas game or a thrilling michigan game.
