Loudest Stadiums (split from Claytor thread)

from my personal experience (which is A LOT of stadiums) is THE SWAMP! I would like to see what Death Valley and LSU is like but THE SHOE is NOT as loud as THE SWAMP! Not only is it the loudest I've experienced but the consistency of loudness is what amazed me! Even when Bama hosted No.1 Oklahoma a few years ago, their CONSISTENCY of being loud surpassed THE SHOE's crowd. The Shoe can get VERY LOUD (Top 5 Easy) but it's only in spurts! They'll get all jacked up for 3rd and long, a field goal, goal line stand etc but I'll tell you THE SWAMP was friggin crazy during PAT's, TO's, and whatever else it was NUTS!

I've heard you say The Swamp before but Bryant-Denny is surprising. I never ever see it in anyone's top 10. I do remember watching Bama play Tennessee last year and it was pretty crazy.

A graduate of a PAC 10 school, who played in many stadiums around the country, told me that the two loudest stadiums that he played in, were the Shoe (it was a night game), and Autzen.

Sounds like a smart guy.

In defense of The Shoe, the ACC and SEC play a lot more night games than the Big-10 and that makes a pretty big difference. Look at last year's OSU-UT and PSU-OSU games. Those were insane atmospheres.

Friend who played linebacker for Kentucky told me that the loudest stadium in the SEC was South Carolina (I believe he told me this the season after they played them there at night)...I've never been there so, don't know if it's true or not. Grad?

The Shoe is loud, no doubt, but if you want decibles, go to the Skull Session. Before the Texas game last year, I couldn't even hear when the band came out. Inside St. Johns arena. I thought my brain was going to slide out of my ear. I never did get to hear the band, or any of the players, or Coach Tressel.
i love St. John Arena, and i suspect you're correct. skull session is freaking INSANE...

I wasn't very impressed with ANYTHING about the South Carolina game experience...the fans are loyal but the stadium is just without tradition. Noise-wise, I'd say average.

Your LB friend...Jeff Snedegar by chance?

Anybody's experience at Williams-Brice can be tarnished if they eat those disgusting boiled peanuts. :tongue2:
